Weatherproof chairs that are UV-resistant and repel water can be left outside. Although this chair doesn't come with any adjustments, it is a folding chair. But given it's the heaviest of all the chairs on our list, it can be a bit awkward to carry—a trade-off of its solid build. And we found that it doesn’t stay folded once you place it in storage, which can be frustrating if you’re dealing with limited storage space in a garage or shed. Considering it's constructed with poly lumber, it was no surprise that the stains lifted with ease and the water beaded on the surface as opposed to soaking into the chair. In short, we think this chair is made to last many seasons, and its fun color varieties and drink holders are just the icing on top.

The seat is fairly deep on this chair, which may be difficult to get in and out of for those with mobility issues. The imitation wood not only adds to the chair’s appearance but is also practical. First, you'll find no splinters; we liked that it felt comfortable against bare skin. While wooden chairs can absorb water, soaking the chair with a hose simply caused water to bead up. We also found it was easy to clean up barbecue sauce; the melted marshmallows required a bit of scrubbing with a wet paper towel and dish soap but eventually came off. While this chair doesn’t have any additional features, such as a cup holder, you could confidently set a beverage on its flat, wide arms. The cutouts also make the chair comfortable for larger bodies and for parents cuddling small kids. The manufacturer terms this chair “all-weather resistant,” but teak wood does patina to a silver color over time. If you prefer that it not fade, consider staining or sealing the wood and possibly sanding it regularly to maintain a fresh finish. Oak and pine are common, too, but both bring distinct advantages and disadvantages. Although oak is strong and durable, it doesn’t resist sun damage as well as other woods. Neither does pine, which doesn’t hold up well in poor weather. So though pine may be more affordable, it’s a less suitable wooden chair option for those looking for longevity.

The chair is comfortable and features a higher seat than previous versions to make getting out of it a bit easier. It comes with wide armrests that feature plenty of room for a beverage or a book (though, no cup holders). Water runs right off the surface of the poly lumber and barbecue sauce wipes off with ease. The roasted marshmallows we applied required a bit more effort, as we had to scrub them out of the grooves of the poly lumber, though they eventually came off. Where this chair performed worst was in the setup—you’ll definitely benefit from having two people when building this chair.
