About this deal

Tiger’s quote at the PNC says a lot to me, he play the Stealth Plus “because the CG is moved forward so I am able to curve it more, and you guys know that I’ve always been a player that likes to work the ball. I didn’t like having just one shot. The driver set up we had for Augusta allowed me to draw the golf ball. But when I hit the cut, it was really short. I don’t have that difference anymore. They are very similar which is huge. And hey you’ve got to love the colour." I achieved good ball speeds, which is what TaylorMade claimed with Stealth. My fastest was 135.4mph with a swing speed of 91.4mph. My carry average was 210 yards and 4 yards greater than the Stealth Plus+ and total was 5 yards more at 240 yards. The Taylormade Stealth Driver has dozens of benefits, but if it were the perfect golf club, everyone would have it. Furthermore, the asymmetric inertia generator allowed the engineers to place a weight on the rear of the driver’s clubhead. You’ll find that this increases the offset of the driver and its moment of inertia (MOI) to encourage straighter shots. Carbon wood is an alternative to titanium, used for some Taylormade golf clubs. The Taylormade brand has invested heavily in this carbon-based material, primarily because of how light it makes their clubs ( forty percent lighter than your traditional club!). Stealth is the standard driver which will suit the masses, notice how it isn’t the Max now which is a good thing in my opinion, a lot easier to understand. HD is for slicers of the ball and Plus+ is for faster swing speeds that like to work the ball like TW. Would I use it? Nanotexture Cover: The face is encased by a polyurethane cover, featuring a revolutionary new nanotexture technology used to fine-tune launch and spin to optimal levels.

The Inertia Generator remains the foundational source of refined aerodynamic properties. The result is a slippery-fast head shape that aids in swing speed generation on the downswing for golfers at every level. TaylorMade engineers took advantage of the lightweight carbon material by creating a 26 gram face, which is 40% lighter than a titanium face of equivalent size. Because of this weight saving the Stealth face can be made 11% larger than SIM2 and SIM2 Max drivers and nearly 20% larger than the 2020 SIM driver.

To give the face the right amount of spin with ideal launch conditions, a polyurethane layer was added to the carbon fiber that includes full-face score lines to improve spin in wet conditions. For dry rounds, a microtexture was added between the grooves to reduce spin at impact. The Stealth range of drivers consists of three different models with each one offering distinctive characteristics, allowing golfers to choose the model best suited for their game. The TaylorMade Stealth driver is the model with the highest M.O.I out of the three and lends itself to use by the largest cross section of handicaps. The weight saving that has been created using carbon on the face, has allowed TaylorMade to add more weight to be positioned low and deep in the head producing 15% more M.O.I than the Stealth Plus model. The Stealth driver offers a mid-high launch with mid-low spin in a clubhead that is unbelievably forgiving. The TaylorMade Stealth Driver is twenty years of development that marks the end of the titanium era and enters the age of Carbonwood. The launch seemed better outside, higher but still with some penetration. I didn’t miss a fairway, I barely missed the centre of the fairway and it was long, 220-230 yards in the winter, no run and it was wet. I was buzzing! With a good pair of gloves and possibly a test drive–you’ll notice how different the Taylormade Stealth is from your other drivers. Still, the differences are for you to decide. Recap: Is the TaylorMade Stealth Driver Worth it in 2023? Source: scottsdalegolf I wasn’t as consistent as with the standard model as I missed more left and found the face a little easier to turn, but this is a compliment to its workability I suppose. There was a 21 foot curve compared to 8 feet in the Stealth. But out on the golf course was where I was really impressed. I hit the ball off the tee better than I have all winter, I never missed a shot with the Stealth, maybe the bigger face has come into its own here? In its factory settings, the Stealth driver is built to encourage a mid to high launch for consistent carry distance. I noticed that the intensified spin prompted an elevated apex on each occasion, making it a breeze to launch.

For the last 20 years, Titanium was all the rage, but TaylorMade have always known that every material has a limit. So, they started pushing the boundaries and now they're leaving the old race behind to begin a completely new one. A race that drives beyond the here and now to raise the bar for what's possible. Due to the weight saving in the face more mass can be positioned low and deep in the head. This adds 15% more MOI when compared to Stealth Plus and is designed to provide 200-300 rpms more spin. However, the higher launching nature of the Stealth may deter superior players looking for piercing flight off the tee. Finally, the twist face construction resists turning during your swing to remain square to the target at impact. You’ll find that it promotes straighter shots for improved accuracy. I had a lot of questions in this department when I first saw the Stealth: what was a carbon face going to sound like? How would it feel at impact? The biggest compliment I can give the sound is that I didn’t notice the difference from titanium. If I didn’t know it was carbon, I’d have never known.

High MOI Design: The weight savings of the 60x Carbon Twist Face has allowed more weight to be positioned low and deep in the head, adding 15% more MOI compared to Stealth Plus+. The Feel of the Stealth driver is a double-edged sword. It impressed me and frustrated me simultaneously. I enjoyed its ability to reduce vibrations felt on off-center shots and shield my hands. However, the feeling was too muted, like I was hitting an airball. Forgiveness

Robot’s take: Average ball speed increase of 2 mph across all nine points tested versus SIM2. One of the best distance balances on off-center hits on all of the models.
