No se si en un futuro le cambie la puntuación a 2.5 ⭐, pero les puedo asegurar que este es de los mejores series manga BL y la película anime es INCRIBLE , creo que le tienen que darle una oportunidad a esta serie de tomos y a esta pareja , si no les termina de convencer este primer tomo les aseguro que los demás mejoran muchísimo y que solo por el arte de Kanna kii vale la pena comprarse estos tomos. Now I think this is one of the parts of this story that stands out the most. The story is mostly supported by our two main characters: lonely, pretty boy, Mio, and disinherited gay novelist, Shun. I'm gonna say this now, but Shun struggles with his homosexuality, something that's hard to find in many yaoi or shounen ai manga. Mio, on the other hand, is not gay and says a few times that he's into girls. But he ends up falling for Shun anyway because of who he is. I was really touched by their relationship, which didn't begin immediately. They're both a bit shy and Shun even seems a bit reluctant to be with Mio at first. But otherwise, these two characters and their interactions are touching, heartfelt, real, and endearing. The L'étranger series ( Japanese: エトランゼシリーズ, Hepburn: Etoranze Shirīzu, lit. Stranger by the Shore is a stunningly beautiful and equally powerful story that confronts how we can internalize the hate and stigma around us. And also, how we can find ourselves once we decide to let others in. Yes, this is a story told through anime, but it’s also a story first told in manga, and that’s important. Stranger by the Shore is the best adaptation of a manga I’ve ever seen. From the pacing to the art style and the use of notable dialogue, everything lands in this adaptation. The anime captures the beauty, intimacy, and melancholy of the story. While this is thanks to Ohashi’s screenplay and direction, it’s also thanks to the vibrant animation.

I’d say that the only genre that’s worse off in that regard may be shows for kids, and even that is debatable. So, once in a blue moon a BL anime that isn’t utterly terrible is released, and just by the virtue of not being completely garbage it gets praised as the best thing ever. And to be fair, in comparison with most of other similar works, it’s pretty good. In comparison to regular anime though… that’s a different matter. That’s not to say that he comes across as a flat character without dimensions so much as his core flaws and anxieties remain relatively consistent across the span of the film. There are some mentions throughout of his difficult history with his family, and these add context to his actions although much remains subtle about the presentation. The film isn’t vague by any means; it certainly gives the viewer the bare minimum information needed— but little beyond it. Your mileage may vary on if this is executed effectively or if Shun’s character could have still used more fleshing out. Just as in volume 1, however, I struggled with following the storyline. It felt like the story was all over the place and half the time I had no idea what was happening. The pacing is the weakest part of both the anime adaptation and the original manga. Before you know it, it's over.
