About this deal

The inner sleeves were all full of static and each record needed to be cleaned. Thankfully I only have seam slips on the studio rarities. I’ve heard others have it worse. Overall the mix on each album is pretty good. I think what a lot of people don’t understand is that they can only sound as good as the tapes they were recorded on. OU812 is always gonna sound flat because it was probably recorded with shitty tape. I think the mixes get better as the albums go by with Balance probably being the best sounds one. Although I noticed some over compression on the cymbals in some parts.

Kommander What screw up, it really is no big deal, every musician screws up or needs to warm up, adjust the tuning, etc. Rounding out the set are "It's About Time," "Up For Breakfast," and "Learning To See," which were recorded during the band's temporary reunion with Hagar in 2004. All three debuted that year on Van Halen's second greatest hits collection, The Best of Both Worlds. LIVE: RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW gives each band member a chance to shine with Alex Van Halen’s pummeling drum solo, Michael Anthony’s “Ultra Bass” solo, and Hagar’s acoustic version of his solo hit “Give To Live.” One of the show’s biggest highlights is Eddie Van Halen’s ripping guitar solo. For more than 10 minutes, he lives up to his reputation as the ultimate guitar god with a solo that touches on some of his best-known instrumentals: “316,” “Cathedral,” and “Eruption.” First WEA Musik GmbH edition for the GEMA-territory with price codes U and WE 361. Issued with printed inner sleeve with photographs and credits. From the DVD/VHS/Laserdisc “Van Halen: Right Here, Right Now (Warner Reprise Video 9 38290-6), 1993

I like Sammy solo stuff but to me he changed Van Halen for the worse and they started writing about love in a positive way (blah!). I’ll admit that for the first three albums I quite enjoyed the singles when I was growing up…but the full albums had so much filler (in my opinion). Sammy is a hell of a singer but it always sounded like he was boxed in on a style that Eddie wanted him to sing. In other words, it sounded contrived. In 1993, the band released its first live album, Live: Right Here, Right Now, before returning in 1995 with Balance, its final studio album with Hagar. The album was another commercial triumph, debuting at #1, selling more than three million copies, and earning a Grammy® nomination for "The Seventh Seal."
