Appearance wise, it looks the same as the rest of the range, but with a nice looking dark chocolate coating, and there’s a strong smell of mint (duh) when you open it. The centre is soft, fudgey and slightly chewy, just like the previous two bars but this time with a nice chocolate flavour. The caramel layer adds a richness and a hint of salt which mixes well with the chocolate coating to create an overall flavour that reminds of, well, a fudge brownie! Dark chocolate mint is a classic flavour and hard to mess up. BUT as a previous mint chocolate #hater, I have to say I’m blown away by this bar. The mint flavour doesn’t remind me of toothpaste, mixing well with the dark chocolate and leaving you with a refreshing aftertaste.

Although strong, the banana flavour isn’t overwhelming and mixes well with the chocolate and the hint of salt from the caramel. Cookie Scoop: For more evenly made cookie dough balls, using a cookie scoop will help ensure they are all the same size. Once they are scooped then roll into a ball and place on the baking sheet. Prepare for Baking: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray with cooking spray. Refrigerate: Crush some oreos on top and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. Once solid, slice into 2-inch squares and serve immediately. After some more ‘adventurous’ flavours, Grenade have reigned it in with this offering and returned to a chocolatey comfort zone.Like most of the other, newer flavours, at 226 this bar has a few more calories than the older range. The carbs are also a little higher at 20g, but this is matched by Grenade’s standard 20g of protein. It’s a nice, chocolate-y bar but it’s interesting that Grenade decided to come out with this when their Fudge Brownie bar is such a classic. These delicious beings will last in an airtight container for up to 5 days, but honestly, they’ll be eaten before then. Even so, this is a great addition to the line and I still really enjoyed it. You could say it would have been improved by substituting the caramel layer for peanut butter, but what isn’t improved by adding a bit of peanut butter… Jaffa Quake 8/10 The bar has a soft, slightly chewy nougat centre (made with authentic Oreo cocoa), topped with a layer of vanilla creme (made with authentic Oreo vanilla), sprinkled with, you guessed it, authentic Oreo pieces and coated in a layer of milk chocolate. Mix: In a bowl combine oat flour, salt, almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract and almond milk.Prepare an 8×8-inch pan by covering it with parchment paper with the ends coming up over the sides of the pan; set the pan aside. The actual Oreo part of it is different to regular Oreos, but you also have the chocolate you need in a cookie. You can easily buy Cadburys Oreo bars now, so you don’t even need the Big Bar one that I used, just the amount of chocolate, and some regular Oreos to put on top and decorate with and give it a bit more Oreo oomph. What’s more, it manages to maintain Grenade’s usual, pretty solid macros – 21g protein, 20g carbs, 10g fat and just 1g of sugar, all for 233 kcal. Actual magic!
