About this deal

Even crazier, now he wants to keep pretending. Turns out Conor loves games, and he thinks it's fun to pull the wool over my frenemies' eyes. Now that you’ve gotten to know a little bit about Jake & Brenna, you can read about how these two are caught up in a modern day sports version of Romeo & Juliet.

but as my father likes to say, hope is for fools. Work hard and make your own dreams come true, he always harps, and then you won’t have to hope for a damn thing’ Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story. As Jake and Brenna begin to spend time together, they are both surprised to find that they actually enjoy each other’s company. It’s obvious that there is something there, something worth exploring. Their bond grows stronger, trust is beginning to form, and Jake proves to Brenna the sort of man he really is, a man that can be there for her when she needs him. Secrets are shared, and real feelings come in to play. But is it enough? Their teams are rivals. Their friends are enemies. And Jake is graduating and moving away. Brenna has one year left. And the romance was aces! I appreciated how the relationship between Jake and Brenna progressed. I know I complain about the romance being told instead of shown. This book didn't have that problem. The Play Briar U, Book 3 Get ready for another binge-worthy romance from New York Timesbestselling author Elle Kennedy! Sports/college romance genres are among my favorite because it's that time in our lives when we are just starting out and anything is possible. H rating: 4 stars. Jake I liked him. He was a sweet, sexy guy who had a good head on his shoulders.

I can honestly say that in my personal opinion Elle Kennedy redeemed herself in my eyes, Cuz I really enjoy the 1st book in this series as I did this one Delicious, complicated and drama-filled . . . I read it in one sitting, and you will, too' L. J. Shen, USA Today bestselling author Conor and Taylor together were SO. CUTE. And I cannot stress that enough. They were so perfect for each other and I sound like a broken record, but EK really does pair her characters together perfectly. I loveeeeed the way Conor behaved with her and vice versa. Some of their scenes had me literally crying from laughter, they were SO funny and cute. And of course there was quite a bit of angst and damn if I didn’t enjoy those scenes too. Yum.You’d think it would be impossible to laugh while I’m writhing on the floor in agony. But Summer Heyward-Di Laurentis makes everything possible. Oh boy was I excited to read THE RISK. After meeting Brenna and Jake Connelly in The Chase I knew their story would be one of my most anticipated books of 2019.

Overall, Elle has created another novel that brings the life of the Briar boys to a whole new technicolor point of view. I laughed, I shed a few tears, and I lusted over Jake. But most importantly, I truly did enjoy that witty banter between him and Brenna that will have you wanting more of their story. Elle already has the third installment in the works called The Play and I think I may have an idea as to whom it may be about? But I am not one hundred percent sure. We just have to wait and see... I’d let Conor fool me into believing I was beautiful. That he didn’t see a chubby girl or just a pair of breasts, but me. All of me. He made me believe I was something desirable. Worth having. — Taylor Summer is a fashion major who suffers from ADHD and learning disabilities, her parents are successful lawyers who were independently wealthy before they got together, but together they are mega super wealthy. And you know what's even more annoying? Being constantly told that Taylor was fat and in the next sentence, she's described as a Marilyn Monroe lookalike and describes her weight as somewhere between Ashley Graham and Kate Upton.

The Risk proves that no matter how many times a trope has been done to death, at the hands of a skilled writer, it will still feel fresh and new every single time. This book is Elle Kennedy in her element. The chemistry between the main characters was great and I enjoyed the romance between Conor and Taylor. Plus, there were some great secondary characters that I really enjoyed. The Chase is the first book from Kennedy's new Briar U series. If the name of the series sounds familiar to you, it should since it's the spin off of her popular and widely loved Off-Campus series. This book is Summer and Fitzy's story. Summer is Dean's sister. We met her previously in Dean's book. Summer is a whirlwind of Prada and Chanel No.5. She is my favorite part of this book. Fitzy was Dean's teammate and we met him briefly in The Goal. And while you get the funny and sexy, there's also a good dose of serious here. There's some things in Brenna's past that continue to haunt her present, and I really loved the way that Elle Kennedy handled this particular subject matter. There's also a really uncomfortable but honest look at gender inequality and misogyny that I wished we got a more satisfying conclusion for, but alas, that's not how life works. So I suppose I'll be happy with what we got. Slowly Fitzy see's another side of Summer emerge as they spend more time together he realises his first assumptions about her were wrong. In the end they come together as two friends helping the other out, he wants to draw her into a character based on a video programme he's designing and in turn he helps get her thoughts on paper for her thesis. Okay, now the hard part. I think I am going to be in a minority here when I say that I struggled a bit with this. Summer came off the first three quarters of the book as so immature. I actually understood her motives. She felt so attracted to Fitz but his actions led her to believe he didn’t have feelings for her. Hunter made it clear he did. She wanted that for herself. To be wanted. With that being said, though, she still should not have let herself consider Hunter when she knew her heart wanted Fitz. An unexpected fake relationship trope romance in which will have your heart melting and wanting so much more...
