About this deal

The Clever Cutter has a handle design that is similar to scissors or pliers. For the cutter to work, the handle has to be squeezed. This will cause the blade of the cutter to meet with the strong, flat base that is attached to the other side of the handle, effectively chopping, slicing, or cutting whatever comes between the blade and the base. Why it Stands Out The spring-loaded handle keeps the cutting jaw as wide as possible in the open position to allow a rapid chopping action. To slice and chop with Clever Cutter, you just squeeze down, again, and again, and again!

The length of the chopping blade (15-30 cm) allows cutting through large pieces of meat, bones and vegetables with one powerful movement. The sharpening angle of a cleaver is slightly bigger and less thin than a chef's knife’s. This makes chopping meat and bones easier. A meat cleaver knife has a sturdy handle, so you can keep a firm grip on it when you're chopping. This is important to ensure safety during chopping and slicing. Maintaining a meat cleaver A longer blade width is useful to use the edge of the blade and push down on cloves of garlic to crush them or squash down herbs or vegetables. Blade Height Walk into any professional kitchen, you’ll find an array of tools to help chefs create sumptuous dishes for waiting diners. Among those will typically be a fillet knife, a paring knife, a chef’s knife, and a meat cleaver.Because you’ll presumably be cutting through some tough stuff, it’s important to have a well-constructed knife. Look for durable materials that feel heavy and substantial in your hand. Similarly, it’s important to find an adequately sharp blade. When the Clever Cutter is not in use, there’s a convenient safety latch built onto the handle of the cutter. This will ensure the blade stays closed when it’s not being used, keeping you safe from accidental injury.

Some cleavers have high carbon, stainless steel blades. A few use the original lot 1.4116 steel alloy which is tougher. Sometimes blades are heat-treated and then cooled to make them stronger. Better blades are die-cut from one billet of stainless steel alloy. The use of stainless steel provides resistance to corrosion and stains on the blade. Care must still be taken to clean and dry the blade after use to avoid unnecessary corrosion due to water. When needing to cut through a meaty chunk of goodness, the simple cleaver is the chef’s tool of choice. Cutting through animal flesh and bone, you don’t want to use delicate tools that could become damaged or injure the chef in their use. The cleaver knife is a large, broad implement made from toughened steel and either strong wooden or plastic handles that stand up to heavy downwards strikes to cut bone and other tough parts. Unlike with other knives, the blade is sometimes blunt with the downward force of the chef’s swing providing the cutting force. Some Cleavers do have a sharp blade which depends on the manufacturer’s approach to their product. The Clever Cutter isn’t designed to just cut one item at a time. Its design is meant to cut large bunches or layers of items, if possible, such as asparagus, lettuce, and scallions.Whilst the simple fact that a knife company has been in business for a long time is not a guarantee that their product is the best, it is a good indicator that they’re doing something right. There are a few things to think about when it comes to selecting the right meat cleaver for your kitchen: Blade Width If cutting is a common cooking preparation before most meals in your house, you will benefit from having a clever cutter. Dishwashing

You can’t go wrong with something from a brand as widely lauded as Wüsthof. The German manufacturer has mastered the art of creating some of the best knives, and that includes its cleaver. The 6-inch cleaver is precision-forged from a single piece of sturdy high-carbon steel to ensure durability. The tang is also triple riveted to the handle to add even more strength. The six or eight-inch blade width is the most common in the kitchen cleaver market. However, some manufacturers like Wüsthof produce their Classic Cleaver model in various sizes from 6-inches up to 16-inches in their largest size. The cleaver is a straightforward implement to cut a carcass into manageable sections before the more delicate work begins. These are rough no-nonsense tools for a specific purpose. It also has a satin finish to help reduce resistance and drag, making cuts with less effort. The blade is slightly curved, too, so it’ll feel a bit more like the chef’s knife you’re used to.As a bonus, this knife is also technically dishwasher safe. A good cleaver knife should have enough heft to cut through tough pieces of bone with accuracy—but keep in mind that the heavier the knife, the more tiresome it will be to use. Hand fatigue can lead to less control and, therefore, less precise cuts.

With the success of the Handi-Cut, Ronan Tools decided to create a household item that would do the same thing, so the Clever Cutter was born. The Clever Cutter sold out on its debut night on QVC and has since then remained a favorite household gadget. The Clever Cutter works best with ingredients that can easily be chopped or sliced. This includes lettuce, asparagus, peppers, fruits, firm cheeses, and bread. Ingredients that are soft or high in water, like watermelon and tomatoes, are not recommended because they can become crushed instead of cut. Frequency A metal of a good grade should be used in its construction since this will give it more longevity. Because it will be handling difficult bones, it has to be robust and resilient. Design Ronan Tools manufactured the Sears Craftsman “Handi-Cut” in 1996, which was an industrial-type tool of the same design that would pioneer the development of the Clever Cutter. The handles for a cleaver are usually 3-rivet ones in a wooden handle (rosewood or another species). A wooden handle is more common with a cleaver and is less likely to slip in the hand.
