About this deal

Chain link fencing for example, puts a lot of stress on the posts as it is tightened and the post holders would not be secured strongly enough in the ground for this (more on this can be found in our project on Chain Link Fencing). Bolt Down Fence Post Holder Used to Repair a broken or rotten post which has previously been concreted into the ground. Metpost Concrete - In

See also “What Size Fence Spike do I need?” above and treat the four-finned product as if it was the longer spike. Fence Post Repair SpikeIf your posts need to be located close to other structures, such as walls or fences, take a look at the Metpost Flush Fit System 2 Bolt Down Anchor for 99mm-103mm Posts. Once the Metpost is fixed firmly in place, all you need to do is place the fence post into the Metpost, which makes erecting any fence a simple job. Buy Metposts at Trade-Only Prices.

The two-pronged style is suitable for small projects, or larger projects if you also bolt it to the concrete (see “bolt down fence post holder&dsquo; above) and the four-finned style is more suited to heavy-duty projects. The “shoe” should be set into a 450mm (18 inch) cube of concrete so that the base plate sits flush with the surface of the concrete. This is the System 2 version of the support, meaning it’s secured with bolts on the outside of the ‘boot’. Tightening these bolts is what holds the posts in place. If the post rots, you will be able to undo the bolts and slide the post out, then insert a new post and tighten the bolts up again. Please note, you may need to replace the nuts and bolts. We also offer the wedge grip version - Metpost Wedge Grip Bolt Down Anchor for 99mm-103mm Posts - that doesn’t feature the bolts. Once the spike is driven into the ground, the driving tool can be removed and the post pushed into the holder. For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. If you want to put a fence post onto a patio for a summer house, gazebo or pergola there is a special bolt down post holder available for this too. It is shown below and as you can see it sits flat on the floor and is bolted or screwed down in all four corners. The post holder comes predrilled with holes for this purpose.

However if you need multiple washers to make the post holders line up then you could also mix up a small batch of mortar to sit underneath the post holder and support it more firmly. Metposts for fencing, such as the Metpost spike, hold the post tight in place while providing stability and durability to your fencing project. Remember, you can come and visit us at one of our three showrooms in Swindon, Yarnton or Oxford where we have friendly and knowledgeable staff on hand to help you with any landscaping queries you may have, so please let us know if you’ve got any more questions about metpost bolt downs, or any of our other products and services. You can find your local branch here! Free local delivery! We also have a detailed guide covering the different types of nuts and bolts and how they should be used here. This is the wedge grip version of the support, meaning posts are held in place by hammering it into the ‘boot’ of the support and over the fins. These fins are at a slight angle which allows the posts to travel down into the boot but not be pulled out. To replace posts in a wedge grip support, you have to drill and chisel the wooden post out of the wedge grips. Many customers opt for the System 2 version of this support - Metpost Flush Fit System 2 Bolt Down Anchor for 99mm-100mm Posts - which allows for easier post replacement. For use in soil to help support and erect fence panels and structures. Available in a range of styles; Wedge Grip, System 2
