About this deal

Review of Shark IZ862H Stratos Cordless Vacuum with Clean Sense IQ and Odor Neutralizer, DuoClean PowerFins HairPro, Includes Duster Crevice Tool & Anti-Allergen Brush, Up to 60 Minute Runtime, Ash Purple Multi-Surface Capability: Comes with multiple attachments that make transitioning from hardwood to carpet seamless. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. Impressive Suction: Handles various types of debris and dirt effectively, even on different surfaces. I am still a little annoyed that it doesn’t offer anywhere on the vacuum to store the extra nozzles/parts. But maybe vacuums don’t do that anymore and I am used to my old fossil corded one.

Both the Shark and the Dyson clean extraordinarily well. They both have 60 minutes of runtime, a light at the front of the vacuum (although Dyson's is slightly more effective), digital displays and automatic power adjustments. At only 5.2 pounds, the Dyson is really lightweight, making it easy to maneuver around tight corners. The Shark is heavier (at 8.9 pounds) but has a unique hinge feature in the wand of the vacuum that allows you to reach under and around furniture without bringing yourself to the ground. Something I didn't realize at first, but is obvious in hindsight, is that the laser function of the V12 is only baked into one of its attachments: the Laser Slim Fluffy Cleaner Head (officially my favorite vacuum attachment name of all time). In all honesty, I didn't find much use for the other attachments — which include the Motorbar Cleaner Head, Hair Screw Tool, Crevice Tool and Combination Tool — that couldn't be handled by the laser head attachment (which can be washed, by the way). I also didn't find much use for the attachments: the Duster Crevice Tool and the Anti-Allergen Dusting Brush. The crevice tool is pretty standard, but the dusting brush didn't seem very effective at removing dust — or at least any more so than the regular vacuum head. Additionally, both of these attachments convert the vacuum into a handheld, and I found the body a bit heavy to be used this way for a very long time without wrist pain. Vacuum #2: The Dyson The Dyson comes with a wall mount and the Shark folds neatly to stand by itself. Both can convert to handheld vacuums, but I found the Shark a little too heavy to do this for very long. The Shark has almost twice the dustbin capacity of the Dyson (0.18 gallon vs. 0.1 gallon), which makes it the better option for larger homes. The odor neutralizer is pungent and reminds us of Gain detergent. You can remove it, and the vacuum works just fine. However, if you’re sensitive to perfumes and scents, you may not want to get this Shark. What owners are saying Pre-motor filters: The foam and felt pre-motor filters sit in a housing at the top of the dirt compartment, and you can only access it after you remove the dustbin. From there, you can just take them out. No maintenance interval is specified, but you need to clean similar filters in other Shark vacuums once a month.

It’s supposed to make your house smell fresh. We tested it out, and it definitely works, but maybe too well for some people. It's heavy. I'm a 48yr old, average strength woman. I am on the shorter side at 5'3", which I think could matter as well. I have tiny, bony hands. Not only does my arm hurt from the weight, but this kills my hand. I'm always repositioning it in weird ways, switching to my other hand, but my hand aches, it has a big dent from the weight, and I need to massage my hand when I'm finished. It's bad. Let’s start with the obvious: These are both fantastic vacuums. And in the end, the choice between them comes down to personal preference.Shark also seems to have thought of everything when it comes to attachments. The vacuum comes with various tools designed for different surfaces and corners. Transitioning from one to the other is easy and intuitive, allowing you to customize your cleaning approach.

I bought this in May 2023 and it's now November, so I've been using it for 6 months. The good points are: The Shark Stratos has odor-neutralizer technology built into its brush head. What happens is that as air passed through the brush head, some of it is forced through a scent capsule, sort of like a Glade Plug-In, filling your home with scented air.Sensors: The dirt sensors for the CleanIQ automatic power adjustment system are found inside the upper wand, with their location labeled with a set of 'IQ' logos. You should regularly wipe them down with a clean cloth for the dirt detection system to work properly. LED DISPLAY: Real-time readouts to monitor battery, select suction levels, and engage Clean Sense IQ.
