About this deal

Enter a longtime friend of her husband, Griffin. They meet and sparks fly, but they are both dealing with internal struggles that seemingly can't be overcome. So, one night Aubrey and Jenna (whom I absolutely adore), convince Althea to go out, have some drinks and well find a man for some sexual experimentation. Baby steps they call it. Her girls are determined to get Althea to start living again. Mind you, all of that wouldn't stop me from reading the next book in the series, if I got the chance :) Despite everything, I like these two, and the rest of their team.

Ann: ‘I like really complex locations, places that hit you and strike you. Places that have different communities within them. I grew up in North Devon so I know it quite well and I like that mix of cosiness – we think of Devon as having cream teas and thatched cottages and there is a little bit of that about it but there’s more rugged and left behind than people realise and because it has Ilfracombe, an old-fashioned seaside town, with big hotels and guest houses, they’ve now become hostels for the homeless, places where drifters and transients come and go and I like very much that mix of different people.’ Other than that she was hyper-focused - on him: his impossible aqua blue eyes (seriously, is that even a real eye color?); his broad shoulders; that delicious mouth; the way his slightly shaggy hair grazed his dark brows. Everything about him was hardwired to excite her on every level. We just have to trust Stella’s word? Why didn’t we get to experience her learning skills and supposed growth? Very little of the wilderness training was described; Stella would just suddenly be advancing for no discernible reason. Where is her hard work and learning? It didn’t feel like she earned graduation at all. Loved the mystery behind the death of Althea's husband... I would have liked to have gotten to know him better and maybe spent more time on the events leading up to his death. Ann: ‘The new series features Inspector Detective Matthew Venn but I hope it will be more of an ensemble piece so we find out a little bit more about his colleagues, Jen Rafferty, who’s a scouser who has escaped an abusive marriage and moved down to North Devon, and very much local boy Ross May.I love that I read a book about my transplant hometown. Chloe did a great job making Pittsburgh, Pittburgh. You can tell she lives here and she was able to add in all the things about the city people love and hate, including the crazy bridge traffic and construction. I mean really, in a city with more bridges than anything else, why is there always traffic on them? Though he’d only helped to distract her from her nervousness. Other than that she was hyper-focused—on him: his impossibly aqua blue eyes (seriously, is that even a real eye color?); his broad shoulders; that delicious mouth; the way his slightly shaggy hair grazed his dark brows. Everything about him was hardwired to excite her on every level.

Liz Isaacson is an American author whose real name is Elana Johnson and focuses more on inspirational romance movies. She has published a number of books, most of them making it to the best selling list. Other than writing, her main hobbies are travelling and watching the sunset. Her love for cowboys, horses, ranches and the mountainside was the inspiration behind some of her books, the rivers ranch series. Being a teacher together with her passion made it easy for her to transition into writing amazing novels. As much as she loves to exceed her readers’ expectations by writing great books, having her teaching profession and being a mother and a wife presents a challenge and makes it hard for her to find time to write. Still, she finds a balance between everything and juggles all of it together. Her love for writing makes it possible for her to write anywhere anytime whether she’s sitting by the pool or lying on a couch. Seventeen-year-old Stella lives a life in the spotlight. She has everything she’s ever dreamed of—a recurring role on a hit TV show, a cute co-star to crush on, and a rebellious showbiz best friend. She shines on set, but off-screen it’s a different story. Drugs, drinking, and shoplifting litter the life of this troubled teen. And when Stella throws a party that leads to the overdose of her co-star, her career hangs in the balance. As she contemplates what her future holds, she is ripped from her bed in the middle of the night by two strangers. I also want to praise the rich vocabulary; Thank you Chloe I highlighted several words for my English repertoire. Metaphors and analogies were abundant but never used excessively and they were beautiful, they just enhanced the reading experience.

There is sex in this book. Great, super-hot, makes you swoon sex. It’s not gratuitous, and it only adds to the story, building on the relationship between Griffen and Althea. And Griffen…oh my…what a beautiful, vulnerable, sexy character he is; I love Griffen! The strong, possessive and steadfast emotions he feels for Althea make him all that I look for and love in a character. Do you know yet what will happen to Matthew Venn through the course of the series or do you let his journey unravel as you write? She meets the mysterious Griffin in a bar and the two agree to make their relationship a no strings attached, purely good times and memories, SEX while he’s in town. Althea spends way too much time letting other people tell her what to do... and she just complies no matter how ridiculous the circumstances. Especially with the mother-in-law... that entire relationship was confusing and unhealthy. Althea couldn't seem to make any decisions for herself. I just found that quality about her very unappealing and frustrating. This is an enticing coming of age story. That begins dark, yet grows into something I was not expecting. Stella has wanted to be an actress for as long as she can remember, and she has done it. She is part of a show and is succeeding in that part of her life. In every other part she is spiraling down a drain. Looking for acceptance and friendship in everyone she comes across. Being used for drugs and in exchange for a "friendship". This destructive behavior leads to a horrifying night, when one of the other castmates overdoses at Stella's home.
