Obviously these two still have feelings for one another, but the past may get in the way of any friendship or any sort of relationship these two have. I liked the way Tanner let it be known early on how he felt and how he regretted the decisions he made in the past. Sarah had some healing to do but with the friendships she had in town and the support they gave her, they lifted her up and gave her a strength she was looking for.I will say this this novel is for a more mature reader. There is very low to no angst in this one. The characters work through their issues maturely.
