Apoquel has side effects, it was a relatively new drug when my dog first went on it with minimal side effects, sadly that is no longer the case and as the years go on and more research into this drug takes place, more side effects and conditions have been reported. This ingredient is neither a steroid or antihistamine, which explains why neither of these things alone work on my girl, due to past experience and trying various products.

So what I was hoping would be a solution turned out to be more problematic and another costly vet bill. Ingredients (per 2 treats): Colostrum (500mg), turmeric (200mg), licorice root (100mg), apple cider vinegar, salmon oil (130mg), vitamin C (100mg) probiotic blend (3 billion CFUs), natural salmon flavouring, sunflower lecithin, flaxseed, palm fruit oil, coconut glycerin, powdered cellulose, rosemary extract, mixed tocopherols, sweet potato, carrot, pea flour, garbanzo flour, sorbic acid I haven't been using the product that long but I feel I need to make a review now as this product has made my girl quite ill. It read on the enclosed tag to give the product 2 weeks before reviewing and at least 30 days before the product might show any signs of helping.During this time she's been on 5.4mg Apoquel twice a day for 9 years which has resulted in other health issues arising over this extended period of time and I wanted an alternative to this medication if possible. The main ingredients are powdered colostrum (first milk), salmon oil, a blend of 5 probiotics, vitamin C and organic turmeric, plus apple cider vinegar and organic licorice root! I've took her to the vet whom advised me to stop giving them to her (which I didn't need to be told) and give her chance to get them out of her system and some medicine to help her recover.

I can't say if its the ingredients of the product or her sensitivity to certain food and allergies, but she's had a rough time because of it. I'm afraid my girl will live a shorten life because of Apoquel, as the vet has already told me it's doubtful she'll see her 13th birthday.
