About this deal

Centurion Assault Squad, bolters and flamers, Champion of the Feast, Crux Obsidian (on sergeant) – 275, 1CP Instruction-wise, it’s pretty much what you’d expect with the new color variations that we really like and there are multiple options for each unit. Another section here with a strong mixture of returning favourites and new toys. Both the Ancient Breviary (Chaplains roll 2d6 and discard the lowest when trying to recite a litany) and the Crusader’s Helm return essentially unchanged (the Helm gets longer range on its Assault Doctrine buff), and since those were the ones people were using before, that’s a great start! As mentioned earlier, the Sword of Judgement has received a glow-up, jumping to a mighty S+3 and keeping its D3, making it a lethal toy to hand out to a power sword sergeant somewhere. Games Workshop revealed its new Primaris Chaplain Grimaldus model, complete with revamped sculpts for the named character’s three attendant, relic-carrying Cenobyte Servitors, on September 27.

Then we get a zoom in on the left half of the Crusader Squad sprue showcasing arms, legs, weapons, and some other bits like heads, torsos, and, shoulder pads. There’s definitely plenty of variation in this kit! which is key when you don’t get a suite of loadout options like in full unit releases. But then, the following day, it changed its mind, and gave the intriguing answer that the model can represent either a Primaris or a Firstborn marine, depending on your preference: We use DHL for our main courier. The delivery guide for this is next working day to 2 working days. The longer period is for areas such as the Highlands and Islands of the UK. Hefting a customised combi-flamer and Power Axe, and modelled directly from theskull-shoulderedTemplar character in the middle ground of John Blanche’s famous artwork described above, this Castellan miniature is perhaps the Templariest Templar model GW has created.

While GW excited us for a few hours by initially announcing the Pyreblaster had a Damage stat of two, this was swiftly corrected to D1. It’s still a tasty piece of kit, though: Sometimes it’s better to wait for a little to actually start collecting an army because there will be multiple waves of things, FAQs, etc… We’re not a hundred percent sure why it didn’t sell as well as the other boxes, but it is something to keep an eye on. It is pretty cool though when you open the box and you see this old-school artwork right away. Vanguard Veterans. Pretty much same again, with the added bonus of being ideal delivery mechanisms for Psalm of Remorseless Persecution. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly - we recommend using Citadel Glue and Paints.Relic Bearers: The Templars points-based upgrade option is a massive winner, hitting the sweet spot of being interesting, broadly useful and powerful. Overall these went together pretty easily. They have so many posing options, are really dynamic, and you can’t complain about the detail at all! The Skull of the Cacodominus has seen a bigger update, and is vastly better at its job of ruining Psykers’ days as a result. This now has a static effect of giving Psykers within 12” -1 to cast and perils on any double, and once per game in the opponent’s psychic phase you can reveal it to give an additional -1 within 18”. Wide-ranging -2 to cast is a massive headache for Grey Knights and even starts to give Thousand Sons some pause, so if those books are terrorising your metagame, this is for you. I will not be taking questions at this time. Complaints are to be directed to Brother Goofus, the 5W -1D Centurion whose Land Raider is even now wheeling him into battle. Cower, foes of the Emperor Wrap Up

There’s been heated discussion among fans as to whether this brand new Castellan is, in fact, a Primaris Space Marine (wearing unorthodox power armour that closely resembles older patterns) or whether he is not Primaris at all, but rather GW’s first newly released Firstborn Space Marine inquite a while. The box is absolutely stuffed with Orks and ravenous squigs – not only do you get 26 new Ork miniatures, the set comes with an exclusive version of the new Ork codex with bespoke Beast Snagga artwork, a set of Ork datacards, and a transfer sheet. The Tomb Kings, held together by the sorcerous will of their Lich Priest head coach, might leave much to be desired in the technical department, but they more than make up for it with plenty of raw undead strength. A bit pricier but also great is Bombastic Delivery. For 2CP this lets one of your Chaplains both automatically recite one of their litanies this Command phase and use one extra litany – so essentially you get to fire off the Litany of Hate in addition to ensuring your most important one for the turn lands. Chaplains are great, Templars give them a bunch of extra utility, and this is a great tool for them – good stuff.

Black Templars Army Set – who is it for?

Outfit any Adeptus Astartes squad with custom pauldrons, cover your Assault Intercessors with honorific ribbons, and equip a Repulsor with a multi-melta – a weapon that the Templars favour for its ferocity. Primaris Crusader squad - The Crusader Squad is a mix of Neophytes and Initiates led by a Sword Brother. They have access to a mix of weapons, including the Pyre Pistol and Pyreblaster, short-range D6 weapons that automatically hit their targets.

My first impression of the book is that it’s really cool. Templars have had a bit of a twilight existence in 40k, sometimes getting their own full Codex and sometimes being Sir Not Appearing In This Wargame, and the Supplement model feels like it’s a natural fit for them, letting all their cool stuff be foregrounded at once. As for the right half, we get a lot more heads, shoulders, and some auxiliary bits. But the notable things here are those new ranged weapons, the Sword Brother’s sword, and the primaries neophytes as well. Primaris Emperor’s ChampionWe’ve no word on pricing or a release date, although– sinceGW commented in its revealarticle that the Templars’ army set would be “a perfect force for Helbrecht to lead”– we can be fairly sure he won’t be too far behind the army set. Now, if only we could see his rules… Just three Secondary Objectives here, all with suitably death metal names – exemplified by the first, Bathe Your Blade in the Blood of Your Foe. Sitting in Purge the Enemy, this works identically to the Blood Angels’ Blade of Sanguinius, letting you set up the kind of Warlord fight which is normally a bad idea in the competitive arena but can be a good idea if you think your guy is going to win and score 15pts for doing so. The Crusaders look so cool and the Neophytes are actually on 28mm bases, so basically the same size as a Primaris, but they are much more static than the regular Marines in the box. All three squads are kitted out with as many pyreflamers as possible, as well as (heavy) bolt pistols and Astartes chainswords for close-range dominance. 40 angry Space Marines running at you at full speed, supported by a Marshal with the Crusader’s Helm (to ensure they’re all in range of his Rites of Battle aura ability), and a Primaris Ancient to keep them fighting to the last, is certainly an intimidating prospect. The Crusaders have a ton of options and each has a lot of variations. The way they do the instructions makes it really easy to build them how you want with plenty of color paths. They don’t say it in here but everything is numbered on the parts os technically you could clip everything out at once.
