About this deal

As I mentioned, you can easily make this entire recipe by hand, so you certainly don’t need any crazy appliances or anything like that. Otherwise, the rest of this recipe mostly involves a lot of folding in, so electric appliances aren’t really required. Can I make your gluten free Easter chocolate orange brownies without any kind of electric mixer/appliance at all? A single slice should take around 4-5 hours to thaw at room temperature. Troubleshooting My brownies aren’t fudgy and moist in the middle like yours. They’re more like cake. What did I do wrong?

In a separate bowl, add the gluten free flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and stir to mix it all together. Sift the flour mix into the butter/sugar mixture. Bring the mixture together using a wooden spoon. Once the mixture starts to come together, add the crushed chocolate orange mini eggs.Dark Chocolate: use quality dark chocolate (ideally 70% cocoa solids) for melting and mixing into the brownie batter. This will ensure a rich brownie base that is not overwhelmingly sweet. Perfect when combined with the sweet Mini Eggs. Fortunately, that doesn’t apply here as my brownies are always so gooey and fudgy – they hold themselves together! Do I need weighing scales to make your gluten free Easter chocolate orange brownies? Firstly, if you haven’t baked them long enough, they’ll definitely be more on the sloppy side than nice and fudgy. We want them to be moist in the middle, but not so that they fall apart when cut.

Mix two thirds of the chocolate mixture into the bowl of fillings until well coated. Then put the mixture into the tin and press it down. Pour the remaining chocolate mixture over the top and tap the tin a few times on the work surface. This will help the chocolate to fill in any gaps. Decorate the top with Creme Eggs, easter chocolate bunnies, and chocolate eggs. Add some sprinkles too if you like. Put it in the fridge to set for a few hours. Once it is set, remove from the tin and slice it into squares. I have done a little experimenting as I had a few comments that the mixture ‘seizes’ slightly when making it. It still sets perfectly fine, and still tastes delicious, but the chocolate orange itself will seize. This means that the chocolate will go hard pretty much as soon as you start mixing it, so instead of having a smooth delicious mixture, you basically have a chocolate orange chip cheesecake.I wanted to stop this from happening if I could so I did a few experiments! Top tips! Here’s some more info from Coeliac UK on identifying safe gluten free products. Can I make your gluten free Easter chocolate orange brownies recipe dairy free?Normally I would insist that you use full fat cream cheese and double cream for a no bake cheesecake, as both of these ingredients are essential to ensure it sets. However, as these cheesecakes are served in Easter eggs you don't need them to set firmly enough to be sliced. Therefore if you want to make a low fat version you can absolutely do this, but please be aware the cheesecake will have a looser consistency. I can understand the need to reduce sugar in our foods, but sugar is integral to the structure of this bake. As there’s so little sugar in dark chocolate and no other sources of sugar in the recipe, that makes sugar play a very important role.
