About this deal

Starting with the characters! ✨ for me the characters in this series are decent, but not amazing. Alosa really began to annoy me in this one- she can be so stubborn and arrogant at times which really annoyed me 🙄 and some of the decisions she made were definitely *questionable*. But she did have some good moments I guess. As much as I don't love alosa tho, I still love riden! 💗 he's so hot 😩😩 and I also feel like he had a ton of growth in this book, which was awesome 💕 The writing style is engrossing, it makes readers want to read their eyes out. The same kind of effect that took toll on me. I liked reading the growth that occurred in her characterisation throughout the story. The characters are not perfect, they make mistakes and foolish choices throughout the course of the story, which makes the story all the more natural and enjoyable. Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map—the key to a legendary treasure trove—seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship. Alosa is the daughter of the pirate king Kalligan. She's his only child (the only one he's claimed), which makes her very valuable. What people don't know is that she isn't a spoiled and pampered pirate princess - she is a cunning and dangerous pirate. When her father sends her on a mission to retrieve a part of a map, Alosa's plan is get captured willingly by a young pirate lord and search their ship for the piece of the map that the former pirate lord of that ship had. The captain, Draxen, is every bit as cruel and ruthless as his father was. But Alosa doesn't expect to be distracted by the captain's first mate and younger brother, Riden. Finding the piece of the map isn't going to be the difficult part of the task - getting around Riden will be. The two girls left, hand by hand and they were excited to watch a movie together and about the book? well, Reynita couldn't care less about what would happen to the book and she would never miss the book.

Riden - Irritating Alosa, even more, being so handsomely loitering around with girls to make her jealous as hell. Just like the first book, I was completely bewitched by this one and I rate it 5 stars with any hesitation whatsoever. Men are the weaker gender, because you can make them do things for you, hypnotize them with the perfect image of their dream woman or see what they’re actually feeling She is sent on a mission to retrieve part of a hidden map- the key to a legendary and grand treasure trove. Everything her father desperately wants and she is desperate and prove herself to him. As part of her plan, she allows herself to be captured by an enemy ship- presenting the perfect opportunity to search the ship and find the map. Seventeen-year-old Alosa, daughter of the pirate king, is our sassy, powerhouse of a female protagonist and also the to-be queen. The fact that she gives a lot of thought before she acts keeps the readers on the edge of their seat. She is as humourous and witty as she is belligerent and well-trained. She definitely knows what she's doing and will stop at nothing to prove her worth. To put it simply, she is everything a typical pirate is expected to be, if not better.I loved the banter between Alosa and Riden. He's yummy, nothing like a yummy pirate. His brother, Draxen was a jerk though.

You have all heard the stories of Jeskor the Headbreaker,” the young pirate captain continues. “I am his son, Draxen. And you will find that my reputation will grow to be far worse.” His hand goes to his throat and pulls out a leather cord hidden beneath his shirt. On the end is a glass vial, no bigger than my thumb, stoppered with a cork. And rolled up inside is the final map piece. With it, my father and I will finally travel to the siren island and claim its treasure. As captain of the Ava-Lee , Alosa's utmost duties are to her ship and crew. Throughout the book we see how many times she was willing to sacrifice her life if it was for the well being of her crew- proving that she was definitely worthy of her position. Another thing I really liked was how the author brought Alosa's siren part to life. It was as if the siren was a completely different person and was so interesting to read about. We also got to see how much Alosa struggled with controlling her siren nature which wanted nothing more than for her to live in the sea. It was one of the major plus points of this book.

Riden - Alosas love interest and partner in crime - was a great character with a beautiful personality. He was kind, loyal and the love he had for Alosa was so sweet. Every time men said something sexist she silenced them in a few seconds with an awesome response or act.
