About this deal

Am I intruding?” He looked good. Healthy. Steady. All of which still managed to surprise me every time I saw him. here’s how I picture Knox… you know that guy on TikTok with the axe who breaks apart those tree trunks??? THAT MAN???? In my head, that’s him 🤪 (If you don’t like fan casting, then just forget I said anything 😐)

Me right after finishing Things We Never Got Over: 🤡 I think I’m going to rate this 3.5 stars and round it up to 4 stars 🤡, cause the book was cute after all and had a tons of tropes done well such as We need to be done with the idea that bubbly women are stupid and helpless women. I can't relate to female characters like that. Have you ever met a woman? In what world would a woman not know what to do in a crisis situation?!

The physical connection between them is incendiary, grounding him and making her wonder if exploring it is worth the risk.

One other criticism I have and seem to share with other readers is that Nash and Lina fall hard and fast for one another but don’t have many scenes where they are really talking and getting to know one another. I simply got the impression that these two characters did not know much about one another apart from mind-blowing sex. I enjoyed Things We Hide From the Light more than the first installment in this series. Nash and Lina are an interesting couple and Score does a wonderful job developing them. After reading two of her books, I see a trend here: the character development of her main characters is excellent. Knox Morgan our “hero” was anything but in my opinion. While I love an alpha and a growly grump with a squishy marshmallow center, I felt Knox was a condescending, self-righteous, steamrolling jerk.

I love you, Knox. And I’m never going to stop being grateful for everything you are and all that you’ve done.” It's ok if you liked this book. On a good day I can kind of see why, I feel bad for it, honestly. It just compiled every single thing I hate in romcoms and threw it at me and I am pissed at it lol, so yeah, two PITY stars.

He feels like a broody shell of the man he once was. Nash isn’t about to let anyone in his life know he’s struggling. The heroine, I liked her, but I would have loved to see her more settled into her own and knowing exactly who she is and what she wants by the end of the book. She does make some decisions but I still feel like she lets the events that happened to her and the people in her life derail most of her individual and personal decisions. The following version of this book was used to create the guide: Score, Lucy. Things We Never Got Over. Bloom Books, 2022. Naomi and Knox are immediately attracted to one another but dance around their magnetism, as neither is looking for or desiring a relationship. As the story progresses, however, their connection is undeniable and they soon throw out all the rules they’ve set in place.

However, Lina has no plans to plant roots, so a fling with the handsome cop is perfectly acceptable. There’s just one problem. Lucy Score is an instant #1 New York Times bestselling author.
