While not quite as exceptional as its pictures, the C845K’s sound is still much better than we would expect with such an affordable TV. It has got bags of volume, for starters, getting way louder than most TVs in its class while also managing to use that volume to create a sound stage much larger than the physical proportions of the TV.
Whether it was Blade Runner 2049 and No Time to Die, to TV shows The Book of Boba Fett and Slow Horses or Foo Fighters horror film Studio 666, the Panasonic TX-65LZ2000B delivered a balanced, controlled and accurate picture. Skin tones are particularly impressive; whether it's Daniel Craig’s bronzed body in the latest Bond or Gary Oldman’s pallid complexion in Slow Horses, everything just looked right on the Panasonic. The TCL 65P639K offers decent sound quality thanks to built-in speakers. However, if you’re looking for a more immersive audio experience, consider investing in a soundbar or other external audio system. The TV does offer several audio settings that allow you to adjust the sound to your liking, including a speech mode, which enhances dialogue, and a music mode, which enhances the bass and treble. Overall, your choice of a TCL TV may come down to where you live. There is always a cost vs performance question to consider, as cheaper televisions almost inevitably mean a drop in quality from their more premium counterparts. Perhaps we should conclude that while the TCL is a stellar TV, the rating is based on price and while the Sony and Hisense cost more, they are in fact better TVs. The TCL 65P639K features voice control, allowing you to control the TV with your voice. You can use the built-in microphone on the remote control to search for content, adjust the volume, and control other functions. The voice control feature is responsive and accurate, making it a convenient way to navigate the TV’s features. Due to availability issues, we replaced the LG C2 OLED with the LG C3 OLED as our 'Best Upper Mid-Range 65-Inch TV'. Furthermore, the newer Sony A95L OLED replaced the Sony A95K OLED.The Q7’s color performance is strong, with accurate and fairly wide colors. The above charts show the TV’s color levels in Movie mode with an SDR signal compared to Rec.709 broadcast standards, and with an HDR signal compared to DCI-P3 digital cinema standards. Whites are almost perfect with both signals, and SDR colors are almost spot-on. HDR colors skew very little and almost cover the entire color space, though greens, yellows, and reds fall a bit short.

If you want a Sony TV for the best home theater experience but find the A95L too expensive, consider the Sony A80L/A80CL OLED. It's a step down in overall brightness and color vibrancy due to its WOLED panel. However, it's still an amazing TV, with great processing and advanced audio and video format support.It's a well-equipped TV with a great selection of smart features and a few gaming perks. Its image processing is significantly worse than on the U8K, so there's visible digital noise when watching low-bitrate content from streaming platforms. Still, it's a great TV for gaming, as it has superbly low input lag and variable refresh rate support for a responsive, nearly tear-free gaming experience. While it has a lower 60Hz refresh rate than the 120Hz on the U8K, it's still a great gaming TV with a fast response time, low input lag, and variable refresh rate (VRR) support that works well with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

At CES 2020, TCL announced plans for a new fleet of Mini-LED TVs – to compete with OLED models – which use smaller LEDs for more precise brightness control than traditional LCD screens. The Sony A80L is the TV surprise of the year. It's based on 'traditional' OLED technology (i.e. it's not a QD-OLED or MLA model) so we broadly thought we knew what to expect, but it stunned us during our extensive test by offering a picture performance with a near-perfect balance of the spectacular and the subtle. It sounds good by TV standards, too, and the feature set will be strong enough for all but the most hardcore of gamers.

All of these qualities combine to make an image that is brilliantly solid and has a lovely three-dimensional feel. On top of all of this, detail is also outstanding, with clothing textures, skin imperfections and complex patterns all rendered crisply but without artificial definition.
