About this deal

Yes, there are moments of ridiculously trite teenage melodrama–including at least one poorly timed romantic interlude that is eyeroll-inducing. BUT those are minor quibbles in a story this rich, with an ending so wonderfully heart-wrenching and satisfying at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed The Cruel Prince and absolutely recommend it to anyone itching for a good, dark fairy tale. me, deep in an elaborate fantasy sequence in which Jude forces me onto a throne for her own selfish gain and is an ambitious bitch to me and treats me terribly but also we have a lot of sexual tension: uhhhhh well I just really like the plot twists

You’re awful.” He said it as though he was delighted. “And the worst part is that you believe otherwise.” other than that, it was well and good, rightfully, and i was too happy just losing myself in a book to make note of the silly plot holes--but the way the third book ruined everything for me is so sad.

Cardan’s older brother Dain offers Jude the chance to be his spy in exchange for immunity to any glamour except his. Jude accepts. On her first mission to Prince Balekin’s home Hollow Hall, Jude steals a copy of Alice in Wonderland. She discovers a letter from Orlagh, the Queen of the Undersea and Nicasia’s mother, implying that Balekin will poison Dain with blusher mushroom. She also sees Balekin beat Cardan in a swordfight and lash him with his belt for not killing a human servant. Oh, I shall, daughter, much as I hope you will realize how much better it would be if you were to be running it for your own family."

Jude brings Cardan to her rooms, the only place she is confident he will be safe. He asks her to kiss him. She hates that she wants to. Jude goes to the council meeting in Cardan's place. She tries to convince the council that Orlagh is planning to move against their kingdom. Madoc pulls Jude aside after the meeting and says he still cares about her despite the fact that she poisoned him.I mean whoever wasn’t already abroad this ship should be careful because I might kindly push them overboard for being late to the party ( let’s ignore the fact that I was also late to the general party shh). If book one was them warming up for the match, book two is them sparring at full swing and I am here for it. And “what is sparring but a game of strategy, played at speed?” So just as he is wary of her, bracing for her next blow while enjoying the game and trusting her completely, he is also going to land blows. Really, it’s only fair. I could go on for two more paragraphs about why he seems to “have a singular taste for women who threaten” him and why and how a certain type of power dynamic appeals to our dear twisted fearie as it, honestly, does to most of the messed up characters in this series, but I won’t bore you anymore with my psychological talk. I will just go ahead and carve a Cardan-shaped chamber deep in my cold, dark heart to trap this clever, cutting, shameless, straightforward yet playful boy and protect him at all costs. I want to do is walk into his arms. I want to drown my worries in his embrace. I want him to say something totally unlike himself, about things being okay.

Un mundo donde una humana sobresale y no permite que la menosprecien. Y se gana el amor y odio de un príncipe cruel que disfruta de humillarla hacerle bromas pesadas y intimidarla pero también llena ojas enteras con su nombre. Cardan, while utterly himself, continued to surprise me. He's one of those unpredictable wildcard characters, and though nothing he does is really 'surprising', he still leaves you baffled and scratching your head at every turn. But the best part? His relationship with Jude is tense, angsty, full of 'what even just happened' moments, and ahhh, I can't say much more but it was so DAMN fun. Fairy tales are full of girls who wait, who endure, who suffer. Good girls. Obedient girls. Girls who crush nettles until their hands bleed. Girls who haul water for witches. Girls who wander through deserts or sleep in ashes or make homes for transformed brothers in the woods. Girls without hands, without eyes, without the power of speech, without any power at all. But then a prince rides up and sees the girl and finds her beautiful. Beautiful, not despite her suffering, but because of it.”Van, "The Roach": Member of the Court of Shadows; Dain's former spy and theft expert; Liliver's lover Cardan is a quite complex character wich i like but all the potenial he had that holly could have played around with got thrown away. We get to now that he has childhood trauma and many other trauma wich gives us a idea why he is like he is. But instead of it being a reason why he is like he is holly uses is as a exuse aswell as his good looks. And let me tell you just because you have gone trough stuff in life dosent give you a exuse to hurt other people. It is a reason why you are like you are but not an exuse! I have seen the fandom and there are a lot of young girl especially that are crasy for Cardan and they think his actions are something to look for in a partner. Wich can be severlly damaging, the only thing that will come out of a relationship like Jude and Cardan is pain. Things are always super dramatic around here,” Vivi tells Heather. “Epic. Everyone acts as though they just stepped out of a murder ballad.” De hecho, la primera mitad del libro me aburrió, pero ya entrando a la segunda mitad todo se pone buenísimo, plot twist tras plot twist.
