About this deal

They wanted the prom queens, not the class valedictorians; the women who wielded fashion as a weapon, and not a shield Liam, likewise, didn't work. He was super badass but really wasn't at all. Riding a motorcycle and wearing leather all the time doesn't automatically make you a rebel. Also not sure how someone could, apparently, spend three yeas as an outlaw in a motorcycle gang and then because a millionaire/billionaire venture capitalist. But okay.

First of all, I LOVE Zara so much. She’s so incredibly funny as a main character in an Adult Romance and I was fully laughing out loud following all the hijinks she was getting into. I love how unapologetically herself she is and how she fully owns her over-the-top p I think you have me confused with someone who would even want to be in the same room as you, much less wed you after such a romantic proposal.” The Dating Plan was created to help people figure out what’s keeping them from finding love and happiness in their relationships. Just like a workout plan, finding the right partner takes time and effort, but with a clear goal and actionable steps, anyone can build beautiful and lasting relationships. The story follows Daisy, a software engineer living in San Francisco trying to escape her family’s matchmaking services, and Liam, who has an inheritance waiting that relies on him getting married. As they keep bumping into each other during ceremonies, they finally make a deal. Jay’s mother puts pressure on him to find the one and Zara wants to find more celebrity clients to make her place permanent at her new firm. As Zara finds proper candidates to date with Jay, he’ll invite him to the red carpet events to meet with the celebrities.

But what if she doesn’t want to find him the best match. What if she was the best match he truly desires! You know that scene in Tangled where Flynn Ryder is watching Rapunzel like she’s his entire world and your heart just squeezes a little bit. I had that feeling every time Jay thought about Zara. He was so in love with her. Because of that detail of cultural influence we also get a high number of characters in the story that can sometimes be tough to keep up with. Plus, we have a high strung main character who’s mannerisms and characteristics in the story was a bit much for me. Will have readers laughing, with family dynamics and personal growth rounding things out for an enjoyable read.” —Library Journal This book falls into so many clichés. I cannot be convinced this author didn't choose them all by throwing darts at different tropes. "She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding," came through at like 20% in and I was like, oh here we go.

On the other hand, I LOVED the representation in this book—I feel like software engineers and venture capitalists aren’t usually the type of characters we usually see in books to begin with, and I loved that Daisy was a woman of color. Reading about her family and her culture added to the reading experience for sure.

This wasn’t the most special read and could have been shorter, but I got exactly what I asked for! :)

By the way my favorite candidate was CIA agent! When I’m reading his parts, I laughed too hard and fell down the couch. It was HILARIOUS! First of all, let me just say how much I like Sara Desai’s writing. Her writing made me continue to read the book until my brain cells exploded from all those unnecessary sexual innuendos. Her writing AND that pretty cover kept me going for a short while, sadly though, they’re not enough. The premise of the book is not entirely new, however, indian main characters really lured me in.
