About this deal

There were still many of my unanswered doubts which are still going through my head but some things should remain secrets, which would soon lead to a part two! :p But determination and persistence are traits Jake admires, and Ella has them in spades. After all, no one ever made an Olympic team by being a quitter.

But apart from these novels which were internationally successful (including in translation), Elliott was also a successful playwright and scriptwriter, most notably for Rusty Bugles (1948) which was, according to one of the speakers on the podcast, the first play to feature the Australian vernacular, an homage more commonly applied to Summer of the Seventeenth Doll (1955) by Ray Lawlor. This may well have been because Rusty Bugles was promptly banned because of its bad language, which is apparently quite tame by contemporary standards. I'll leave that to others to judge. The line search continued until they had covered every inch of their planned path. The area under the bridge was still to be searched, but this search would require a new plan, for there were pillars to be navigated and the route was not as clear. A young Mum, Ella Devonport , who was a professional Swimmer moves to Western Australia to a country town of Chalk Hill, with her 10 year old son Sam. She has separated from her husband. She takes on a new profession in Real Estate and her first assignment was to sell Irma Honeychurch's house. And damn I even learned something about the environment in the meanwhile. But not overly annoying. Just perfectly woven into the story - just how I like it. Thank you so freaking much loves for this ARC, I’m so excited to see what else you two write in the future.. hopefully a book about Lily & Nico because they BETTER become a couple. They’d be perfection.. okay that’s all.

This was such a fun read! If you want to go in completely blind, I highly suggest not reading this review (or any others) until after you finish the book. That said...i love that we got luca's pov because you know instantly that he cannot stop thinking about avery and he is definitely an obsessed boy AND HE FALLS FIRST! while avery hates him and thinks the worst of him lmao. it's definitely that one-sided rivalry where the fmc only thinks they have a rivalry ♡ and he's always thinking ways to be close to her and!!! i love their little bets and games THEY WERE SO CUTEEE luca navarro really is the MAN HE'S IT MY FRIENDS. The case went to the court and then to a counseling session from where the story had actually started.

I am so hooked, from the very beginning, devouring the words, knowing at 11% that I won’t be able to stop until it’s over. this was such a feel good romcom, impeccable writing, very relatable female character, sPiCy, and so funny??? i cannot wait to read more of kels and denise’s work in the future I'm sorry, i refuse to believe that this was a debut. there is no way!! please explain how it was so utterly perfect if it is one? how it is absolutely flawless in every way?? Avery and Luca’s relationship also developed very naturally; it didn’t feel forced or rushed. I was even wanting a bit more of them, which is something Kels and Denise nailed for a slow burn. Every little moment we get of them flirting or interacting made me giddy and excited. Bonus points for characters that actually communicate to each other and respect one another. I love me a no third act break up. ♡ Ella was hoping to be an Olympic swimmer before something derailed those plans and she's never swum again. Now she is embarking on a real estate career in a small country town.

Summary:

I find myself falling for these terribly flawed human beings and using the word flawed is putting it mildly! I want a happy ever after for these cold blooded killers. TBH, at the start, I thought this book to be a cringe YA romance instead of a thriller, murder-mystery after a few sexual intercourses and some lovey-dovey dates. Elliott remained in the United States for the remainder of his life, commencing a literary career in 1963 with his autobiographical novel "Careful He Might Hear You", which won the Miles Franklin Award and was subsequently made into a film. He published ten novels in total, several of which dealt with issues from his own childhood and experiences in Australia before the War. Although he increasingly developed a following among Australian readers, Elliott remained uncomfortable with his country of birth, in no small part due to his homosexuality, which had marked him out for difference during his youth. He spent his final years in New York City, dying of cancer in 1991. ok so i loved this, i ate this up!!! luca had me swooning y’all — like WHAT, he was honestly one of my favourite grumpy men i think, giving me grumpy but smooth, suave and just held this confidence about him wowoweeee They soon thought of marrying each other and they did. Only, it was a lot more awkward and Kate was already 2-3 weeks pregnant before the wedding took place.
