About this deal

Buoyed by their ability to hold objectives to the very last man, the Deathwing can teleport right into the heart of the battle as an immovable barricade, safe in the knowledge that points will be scored no matter the cost. Comprising warriors wearing the heavier Gravis variant of Mk X, Indomitor Kill Teams are mobile bastions capable of unleashing the firepower of a squadron of battle tanks. Before them, hordes of xenos and monstrous beasts alike are torn apart. An INDOMITOR KILL TEAM contains: 1 Heavy Intercessor Sergeant; 4 Heavy Intercessors (see Heavy Intercessor Squad). You can add any 5 of the following models to this unit: The Deathwatch is freed from the usual technological dogma that plagues the Imperium and their arsenal also consists of vast amounts of Xenos technology. Their wargear is highly specialized and reflects the varied requirements of their mission and vast array of potential threats. Development of weapons often includes Apothecaries, who specialize in analyzing maximum bio-damage to enemy xenos. Their equipment is produced by specifically vetted Tech-Priests sworn to secrecy and regularly put under hypno-therapy to allow for maximum discretion. [42b]

At the start of each battle round you can select one Chapter Tactic or Successor Tactic from Codex: Space Marines. If you do, then until the start of the next battle round, this unit has that Chapter Tactic or Successor Tactic instead of Xenos Hunters. If the number of dice in that pool is greater than or equal to the Wounds characteristic of any of the reassembling models, select one of those models to be Reanimated. A Reanimated model: The entry for each KILL TEAM unit will detail any keywords that unit has, as well as any other keywords gained while that unit contains certain models. The Doctrines are a great boost for the Deathwatch Veteran squad, giving you +1 to wound against a selected enemy unit. Hellfire shells are a great way of wounding most enemy units on a 2+ without a Doctrine, but there are some situations where you may want to use the Doctrines. For example, using one with a Frag Cannon allows you to wound most enemy infantry or Biker units on a 2+. They are also useful when targeting enemy vehicles with your Bolters or special weapons. As stated above, a unit of Combi-Meltas will wound most enemy vehicles on a 2+ when combined with a Doctrine. Add in Mission Tactics to re-roll failed wounds of 1, and you can cause a lot of damage in a single round of fire. The Deathwatch Veteran has a huge array of weapon options available to them, so you can arm the squad for whatever role you wish to use. Because of this diversity, you could really build a Deathwatch army almost entirely composed of Veteran squads and be able to deal with most threats to the enemy army. The Dark Angels don’t focus on a particular style of combat, choosing instead excellence in all forms of war. Despite their mastery of plasma weapons, swordplay, and high-speed interdiction, it’s their unshakable Grim Resolve that they’re truly famed for – a dour and practical outlook to warfare. Such technology is rarely made, but rather hoarded, each transponder a unique artefact. Some hide in armourflourishes, are worked into signet rings or even form revered sigils. Each model in this unit gains the Teleport Strike ability. Many of their successors have risen to fame, like the bloodthirsty Flesh Tearers. Their Chapter Master, Gabriel Seth, is a great example of the way named successor Chapters work in the new edition – gaining all of the benefits of their parent Chapter’s Detachment but without the ability to mix Epic Heroes . If you selected this secondary objective, then DEATHWATCH INFANTRY units from your army can attempt the following action: To accentuate the practical gear, pouches, and belts, employ a rich brown shade. Rhinox Hide or a similar brown paint will help create a realistic appearance. Be precise while painting these elements, ensuring you don’t overlap onto other areas.

In principle, Terminator armour is similar to a Space Marine’s power armour in that it employs electrically activated fibrebundle You then make a Charge roll for the charging unit by rolling 2D6. The result is the maximum number of inches each model in that unit can be moved if a Charge move is possible. For a Charge move to be possible, the Charge roll must be sufficient to enable the charging unit to end that move: Secure Xenotech (Action): At the end of your Movement phase, one Deathwatch Infantry unit from your army can start to perform this action if it is within 3" of the Xenotech objective marker and no enemy units (excluding AIRCRAFT) are within 3" of that objective marker. This action is completed at the start of your next Command phase. If completed, remove the Xenotech objective marker from the battlefield. Weaponry for Terminator armour is designed for close quarters combat. By default they wield the noble Storm Bolter with its murderous rate of fire in one hand, and an all destroying power fist encases the other, a potent close combat weapon capable of crushing the strongest armour or alien carapace. Other specialised weapons include assault cannon, heavy flamers, thunder hammers and storm shields, lightning claws and chainfists. Although a few long-range weapons like the carapace-mounted cyclone missile launcher exist for Terminator armour these are rarities, the armour is designed for savage engagements at point-blank range. [1]Building a Deathwatch kill team is super rewarding from the perspective of lore – you’ll be able to really go to town tying each Space Marine to their individual Chapter. Ancient StandardsWhile your Army Roster contains any BANNER OF RENOWN models, keep a Renown tally for each such model. It can be difficult to know what round to use against what enemy unit. I’ve crunched some numbers and put together the average number of unsaved wounds that each round should cause against selected enemy units. In each of the examples below, I am assuming that you have 10 Deathwatch Veterans armed with Boltguns. The unit has deployed from deep strike reserve, so is just over 9″ away. This makes Vengeance rounds out of Rapid Fire range, though the average number of unsaved wounds at rapid fire range has been included out of completeness. Obviously, for the Vehicle/Monster column, the Hellfire round only applies to the Monster (as the shell does not work on Vehicles). Up to 4 Veterans may replace their Boltgun with an item from the Heavy Weapons List (Frag Cannon, Heavy Bolter, Heavy Flamer, Infernus Heavy Bolter, Missile Launcher). Until the start of your next turn, friendly INDOMITUS CRUSADERS gain the benefit of that Chapter Tactic in addition to any others they already have. They are considered to have the keyword of the Chapter that Chapter Tactic belongs to for the purposes of resolving that Chapter Tactic.

Due to its vast mission the Deathwatch is scattered across the galaxy on Watch Fortresses and Watch Stations, the largest of which is Talasa Prime. Until the formation of the Great Rift Talasa Prime was also the primary training station of the Deathwatch, but the dangerous travel from Imperium Nihilus has seen this disrupted. It is said that within Imperium Nihilus such duties now fall to Fort Excalibris and Praefex Venatoris. Each Watch Fortress is a sovereign domain standing sentinel over an area of the Imperium, each having its own number of Watch Stations. The structure of most Watch Fortresses are identical, with ultimate responsibilities falling to a Watch Commander who is supported be a strategic council of Watch Captains and Lieutenants. Each Watch Fortress also has its own Librarius, Apothecarium, Armoury, and Reclusiam. The Watch Fortress Commander is the highest level of command within the Deathwatch, no single Chapter Master exists due to the vastness of their missions and deployments. [42b] However initially during the War of the Beast, the Deathwatch did have a Chapter Master. [30] An account from older editions states that centuries ago, a Conclave of Ordo Xenos Inquisitor Lords, known as the Apocryphon Conclave of Orphite IV - convened with the purpose of formulating a galaxy-wide strategy to combat the many xenos civilizations assailing mankind. Foreseeing an age where mankind would eventually consume the Imperium itself, the conclave sat and debated for many years. Some advocated the annihilation of all xenos, some that certain less-violent civilizations should be "tolerated". However a strategy was eventually formed and the Conclave requested an audience with many assembled Chapter Masters of the Adeptus Astartes. After hearing the Inquisitor's pleas, the Chapter Masters deliberated for one night before giving their verdict: they and the Inquisitors would together take a solemn oath and form a new Chapter, one drawn entirely from Battle Brothers from existing chapters. The alliance dubbed it the 'Deathwatch', for it would stand guard against the doom foretold by the conclave. [7b]While a FORTIS KILL TEAM only contains Outriders, it has the BIKER keyword and loses the INFANTRY keyword. Now, let’s turn our attention to their weapons. Deathwatch Veterans wield powerful swords, and for this distinctive cyan green color, we recommend Temple Guard Blue. This unique hue adds a vibrant touch to their arsenal. Additionally, take a moment to enhance the metallic components of their weaponry with Runelord Brass.
