About this deal

Pilot questions are also included alongside the test for the purpose of item development; however, you will not be scored on these. Professional Dilemmas Paper In 2022, the performance of candidates in the MSRA was the sole basis for assessment and ranking in General Practice and Core Psychiatry Training. We are currently waiting for confirmation if this will be the case for 2023. For Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the MSRA score was used to shortlist the lowest scoring applicants while the highest scoring candidates were offered direct offers. We expect the same process to be followed this year as well. However, the MSRA is no longer used for recruitment in Paediatrics. The MSRA application for 2023 opened at 10am on 25th July 2023 and closed on 15th August 2023 at 4pm. Now there are a bunch of MSRA question banks out there so here are the best MSRA question banks to help you decide which is best for you, and remember you might want to sign-up to multiple banks to do as many questions as possible.

Overall, the MSRA is an important part of the selection process for many medical specialties in the UK, and it is important to prepare thoroughly if you are planning to take the exam. There are many resources available to help you prepare, including online courses and practice tests from Pastest. With the right approach, it is certainly possible to achieve a good score on the MSRA and to progress towards a rewarding career in medicine. Shortly after the MSRA testing window has closed, your MSRA result will be available within your Oriel account against your application shortlist scores. For the January 2024 exam, results are expected by 9 February 2024. How is the MSRA scored? Sample and practice questions for both papers of the MSRA are available here. Additionally, a demo test to enable candidates to familiarise themselves with the controls and screen layout is available here. Requests for reasonable adjustments that are submitted after the application deadline will not be considered. Half of the questions in the CPS paper are extended matching questions (EMQs) and half are single best answers (SBA). EMQs feature sets of 7-10 answer options, each with multiple associated questions. For each question, candidates must choose the most appropriate answer option from the set. For example, candidates may be asked to select the most appropriate drugs, from a list, to prescribe to several different patients.Do you have a disability which requires any specific arrangements / adjustments to enable you to attend a computer-based test, interview or assessment, or other selection process?"and select the adjustment(s) you require from the list of options.

There is no negative marking; marks can still be rewarded for answers that are not entirely correct but unanswered questions will be given no marks.

What is the MSRA?

Your overall mark for the MSRA comes from your combined score across the Professional Dilemmas Paper and the Clinical Problem Solving Paper. While your previous studies and work as a junior doctor will have prepared you for some of the questions and scenarios within the MSRA, it’s advisable to allow adequate revision time for the MSRA, as you would with any other exam.
