It all started a couple of years ago when I started doing serious gravel riding events. Starting out on a full carbon cyclocross bike it soon became clear that the pounding my body was getting was becoming the limiting factor (maybe an age thing as well), after finishing the Dirty Reiver 200 km gravel event in Kielder forest in 2017 I started looking at all ways to limit the pain.You can measure the length of your existing stem as shown in the following picture.
