About this deal

This one has a bit of a different build than some of the other standard snowboard tools you’ll find. It has an entire compact handle that lets you get a good grip before you start to tighten things down. You’ll be able to make sure everything stays safe, secure, and in place. Its only really when you swap boards on the same day of riding that you really start to get a feel for how these differences affect the ride. A good rule of thumb is that a board should come up to somewhere between your chin and your nose, but this calculator takes it further… Often rental shops use machines to sharpen edges. If this is the case they might not be able to sharpen a board with Magne Traction or a similar type of serrated edge. Boards with this type of serrated edge need to be sharpened by hand.

Once it has finalised the length of board it will suggest boards that suit your ability and style of riding. For example, a beginner will want a soft all-mountain board. Whereas an advanced free rider will want a stiffer, directional board. Use the iron to remove any dirt or grit that makes its way onto your board, then use the scraper to remove excess old wax or polish and get rid of any remaining debris. After that comes base cleaning: take some warm water and a little bit of soap to clean off your base so it will have maximum grip when you’re out on the slopes.Stance Centering - Most ICS conversion discs will only have one set of holes so this may not be adjustable. If the disc has more than one set of ICS holes then you can choose the ones which centre the bindings the best over the snowboard Tool required for sharpening snowboard edges How to sharpen your snowboard edges at home Step 1 – Remove your snowboard bindings Stance Width - The rear window in the footbed of the binding allows you to see the reference stance locations printed onto the snowboard. Line this up with the distance you want to set the stance width Do use the correct size screwdriver to ensure the bolts are nice and tight without stripping the heads of the bolts

If you plan on waxing your snowboard too, you might consider buying an all in one wax and sharpen tuning kit such as this one. Do not use an electric screwdriver or drill to tighten your bindings as this can damage the bolts, bindings or board Sometimes – actually a lot of times – you only need a basic #3 screwdriver. G3 knows this with their Shop Tech Pozidriv #3 which works as a great snowboard tool. The molded handle gives you the best grip while the hardened tip gives extra power and durability. A snowboard screwdriver. Simple. But perfect.Pro Tip: If you have a serrated edge be sure to use a shorter snowboard tool that will fit in between the bumps. Lib Tech have their own specific tool (as pictured below) or Dakine have a mini tool which will also work. Tools for sharpening snowboard edges It’s once again that time of year, and my heart is overflowing with happiness. I had been waiting a very long time for this moment of adventure. Yes, I went hiking as often as I could this summer; I can’t really complain about that. But what about fun on the slopes, though?

Stance Angle - The stance angle is adjusted by lining up the relevent measurements on the disc and baseplate in the same way you would for a standard 4 hole or 3 hole binding It’s crucial to take your kit’s size into account. The Demon Complete Snowboard Tuning Wax Kit, for example, comes with a huge assortment of waxes, accessories, and sharpening tools. This high-quality edge tool gives you the ability to grind your side edges to a precise degree while you’re out on the slopes. The included file guide gives you the means to make 87,88,89 and 90-degree edges with ease. Your conversion disc should feature two holes which will line up with the ICS channel on the snowboard. Line these two holes up with the two channel inserts on the board If you already have all your other tools, you really need a good iron like the Waxing Iron Swix has made here. This is a real deal waxing iron, coming up from a company like Swix which has been dealing with wax since 1946. It’s a 110V iron made for dialing in your waxing needs. Though really what you must accompany a good tuning kit with is a good tuning table.

The Dakine Stance Driver has saved me on the hill more times than I can count. Sadly it was never my tool that saved me. I had to borrow this tool from a friend. It’s a user-friendly tool that just works. With a nice torque action and numerous bits to choose from, your bindings will stay tight while your ride loose. This tool is affordable and comes with the bonus measuring tape to make sure your stance is a perfect width every time.

However, in reality this may be impractical or unnecessary if you’re blessed with mostly powder conditions. I tend to sharpen my snowboard edges just 2-3 times every winter season. DEMON UNITED’s Ski and Snowboard Tuning Kit is an all-in-one solution for a messy snowboard. The kit includes an iron, plastic scraper, base cleaning, base ironing wax, edge tuning wax, and file—everything you need to keep your board looking good until next season.Using the marks on the disc and baseplate set the stance angles to your desired setting. Most bindings adjust in 3 degree increments The starting point for working out what size board you need it your height and weight.
