About this deal

Due to the high demand for their sweetheart chisels in the second-hand market, they were forced to recontinue the production of the 750 series. Additionally, the blades will need to be honed. Between the two, the Stanley chisels are much closer to where they need to be and will require less work. When it comes to chisels they are famous for the Stanley Sweetheart 750 chisels range a design which has often been copied but rarely bettered. We use the word chisel in two ways. The word “chisel” is used when it is referring to the tool used to cut and carve into wood. “Chisel” can also be used to describe the process of cutting or shaping something with the chisel tool.

So, who makes the best wood chisels? The Stanley sweetheart 750 chisels are the original. They’re strong, durable, and should last you a lifetime if properly maintained. Another point of view is that as woodworkers we hope that people appreciate out hand-made creations and the effort that has gone into the work. In some cases machine made dovetails in items from the Far East will be more precise than mine, but mine are hand cut and that counts for something – I hope. In the same respect, I like to buy hand-made tools. i can aford them in small number and I love to use them because I know a guy from, for example, Ashley Iles (who have been mentioned here) ground them by hand. If we only promote cheap mass-produced items then why do we bother doing woodwork at all when it can be churned out by machines – is there any value in hand-made? I find it quite depressing when I shop for tools in large stores to find that its nearly all cheap and mass produced, and i’d argue a lot is rubbish and won’t last a lifetime at all (so I don’t buy it). In addition to all this, buying the likes of Ashley Iles and Clifton planes supports local craftsmen, when the craft has largely died out. If we as craftsmen don’t see the value in the crafft of toolmaking, why should we expect others to value our craft of woodwork?

Who Makes The Best Wood Chisels?

Most modern chisels are shaped with a CNC, meaning you’ll see machine marks. You can certainly see them on the Sweetheart, as you will with Narex or other chisels in this price range.

Being chisels savvy will certainly make purchasing a chisel much easier. For those who may have already done some research on brand names, you may recognize the names of Narex, Stanley, Robert Larson, and Lie-Nielsen. So, no matter if you are a DIY woodworker or a professional, these chisels will satisfy you despite having a few minor hiccups. Later, they have started manufacturing this series again in England. Previously it was the United States of America who used to make this series. It’s incredibly important to have a long-lasting chisel.
