About this deal

There are 12 color modes in total, some game-type specific and some suited for reading or other work tasks. Three Game modes let you customize color and video processing options separately. A Custom mode has a two-point white balance plus hue and saturation sliders. I discovered that there is a gamma control in the Console Mode sub-menu, which is not usually found on Dell gaming monitors. It can be turned on and adjusted without affecting other image parameters. Both Super Fast and Extreme modes are redundant as they introduce too much inverse ghosting (pixel overshoot), whereas the Fast mode works perfectly fine across the entire refresh rate range. It prevents ghosting at no cost of overshoot.

The AW2523HF needs very little in the way of adjustment. In fact, you can enjoy it just fine in either Standard mode (the default) or Custom Color. Both options offer a visually neutral grayscale, error-free sRGB color and near-perfect gamma. I have the in-game fps counter and I can see that the game floats between 160-240hz. I have it capped at 237 so that makes sense. Question #1, is there a tool I can use to measure my average throughout a match? It's well known that at the start of the game and/or the "drop-in" that FPS is the lowest. Once you drop down and are on land I think I'm getting above 200FPS on average. But that's a subjective view. I'd like to get objective there.IPS panel has beautiful colors and they did not sacrifice image quality with the 360hz refresh rate. The alienware has very good overdrive tuning. Its standard overdrive is just as fast as the MSI, but its super fast and extreme has overshoot. Just because you don't see ghosting doesn't mean it's 1ms response time. The panel is the same as the Asus and the MSI, so if u dont' see ghosting, it's NOT 1ms, it's closer to 3-3.4ms And where you’d expect a compromise, the panel, there isn’t one. It’s a Rapid IPS panel, which means that you get the best possible viewing angles and color reproduction. There’s absolutely nothing to complain about. Finally, keep in mind that the ASUS PG248QP is planned for 2023 with a 1080p 540Hz TN panel, as well as the Dell Alienware AW2524H with a 1080p 500Hz IPS panel. Conclusion

inch monitors are pretty standard nowadays, but the Alienware AW2521H isn’t the most compact in its class. The stand’s V-shaped base needs ten inches of depth, but at least it leaves a lot of room in between the two pegs. The monitor’s unique shape is to blame, but it’s what gives the product its distinct Alienware identity. I'd also like to point out for the math-challenged here that a monitor with a 3ms response time can't quite hit 360 hz. So there's either some rounding or fudging going on. Could you perhaps get into the service menu and tell us which panel it has? And do some testUFO ghosting tests at 960pps or 1440pps at max refresh rate! Thanks! But the thing is, professional gamers don’t need the high resolution – they need a high refresh rate. A high refresh rate, which means less time to render an image on the display, gives you the information faster. Whether it’s movement, or something happening in-game, the higher refresh rate will show that earlier. And that’s a major advantage. VA, or Vertical Alignment, is meant to be a middle ground between TN and IPS, combining a fast refresh rate with good color reproduction and better viewing angles. But, while they do all that rather well, and also get you the best contrast ratios, they also come with the worst response times – not something you want for competitive gaming. just how professional athletes are capable of super human feats, their footwear and attire matters just so they can shave off milliseconds.
