What’s really great about the GuideRails, though, is that you don’t really notice them until you need them. They keep you in line without causing any hiccups in the ride. They provided one of the smoothest foot strike to toe offs transitions I have experienced. This lends itself perfectly to easy runs and longer distances. The fit of the Glycerin is just right for me,” she says. “It’s my top choice when I’m feeling tired and worn down.”

From time to time carriers may deliver earlier or later, or on non working days however this is cannot be guaranteed nor should it be expected. The Glycerin maintains a great balance between flexible and rigid, delivering a smooth ride that any runner would enjoy. Again, the flexibility does not create a propulsive running experience, but it contributes to a fun ride nonetheless. While the differences between then Glycerin 18 and Glycerin 19 aren’t huge, there is one big change to the Glycerin this year: the introduction of the Glycerin 19 GTS. The upper features a dual layer air mesh material that is breathable, flexible, and durable. It adapts and molds to your feet resulting in an incredibly comfortable fit. Sure you could find more cushioning or responsiveness in a max stability trainer, but I doubt you will find one that is a more comfortable and smoother ride than the Brooks Glycerin GTS 19. The heel fit is important in the stability trainer because it can either add or subtract an amount of the stability felt. The Glycerin GTS 19 heel fit adds to the stability.

Brooks Glycerin 19 Review (2021): Should You Get It? Brooks Glycerin 19 Review (2021): Should You Get It?

This is our first lab-tested shoe. We are starting to put hard numbers to everything we can test on a pair of shoes, from the softness of the midsole and outsole, the force it takes to flex and bend the shoe, slip resistance of the laces, where they fall on the minimalist index, and so much more. The Brooks Glycerin 19 is inviting and comfortable, there’s lots of padding in the upper, and the midsole has a smooth, yet slightly uninspired ride, which for an everyday trainer is not necessarily a bad thing, it's consistent.Less is more” has become the motto for Brooks in 2021. They decided to phase out the Ravenna and Transcend, the low and high tiers of their stability offerings. Longtime fans of the Glycerin won’t notice many differences between the new model and the outgoing one, and the max-cushioned experience remains the same. One new feature of the Glycerin this year, though, is the addition of a support version, too—the Glycerin 19 GTS. Brooks set out in 2021 to simplify its lineup by grouping shoes into experiences and then splitting those between neutral and support. The Glycerin is the first example of that.

Glycerin: Cushioned Running Shoes | Brooks Running

Brooks engineered the Glycerin for the softest ride by using a bed of its DNA Loft cushioning. The super-soft foam feels like a spa day for your feet, making it a great choice for long runs or recovery days. The Glycerin 19 is fairly soft underfoot but still retains a slightly firm feel when running on the roads. Compared to other shoes in the daily training category such as the Saucony Ride or ASICS Cumulus, the Glycerin's DNA LOFT midsole provides softer landings and a more protective ride but may not be quite as fast. Nevertheless, comfort is a guarantee when wearing the Glycerin 19.The gusseted tongue (attached to the midsole) aids this fit as well, making it almost a glove like feel. This increases the temperature in the upper. Kaleb: "This is my first pair of Glycerin shoes, and I have been impressed with the upper so far. The 3D Fit Print design provided a secure wrap that was very adaptable to my foot shape. I also appreciated the room in the forefoot, which allowed for toe splay. I did experience some Achilles irritation from the heel collar, but this problem dissipated after a short break-in period. I also found the upper to be on the warmer side when I was running in hotter conditions." They get stiffer too when cold. It's not a ton, but it's noticeable, which makes them even duller in the winter. We froze these shoes to 31°F (-0.6°C) and repeated our flex and durometer tests. The midsole was 17.4% firmer and the flex of the shoes was 60.2% stiffer than when measured at room temperature. The big change this year is the addition of the Glycerin 19 GTS, which replaces the Transcend in Brooks’ lineup. The GTS delivers the same soft experience as the standard Glycerin, but it includes GuideRails technology for natural support.
