About this deal

Dredging rivers, filling in wetlands and other human acts of engineering have shifted coastal ebbs and flows worldwide. Add rising sea levels, and the threat of storm surges and floods will worsen in some places. Separated into two parts, the exploration of losing oneself and then the rediscovery in the aftermath of an abusive and toxic relationship. But only recently have scientists collected modern, precise tide-gauge data from around the world, showing just how widespread tidal changes have become. “It wasn’t really until about 10 years ago that we started to appreciate that it’s occurring on a much wider level,” says Haigh. changing with the tides is a powerful collection of poetry that uses the expression of realization as its main theme. the book is unique in its structure with its alteration of letters and poems. there is also a progression of discouragement to empowerment within the voicing. i found many of Shelby's words to be very relatable and they pulled on my heart strings. there are many styles of poetry and prose used throughout. a very lovely collection. i honestly can easily picture many of the poems being used as wall art, phone wallpaper, quotes, and tattoos. they are just that stunning. <3

Researchers are also using computer models to analyse how changing tides and rising sea levels might affect other types of coastal flooding. A hurricane’s storm surge, for instance, often responds to the changing landscape much as tides do. The words were so beautiful and I love the writing style as well as how the author shared her insights and feelings through poetry. In the mid-2000s Talke was a postdoctoral scholar at Utrecht University, studying the Ems River that empties into the North Sea between Germany and the Netherlands. Decades earlier, engineers had begun dredging parts of the Ems so that newly built ships could navigate it from a shipyard upriver. TikTok poet Shelby Leigh presents a moving and inspirational collection of poetry about growing up and embracing all the beauty life has to offer. The perfect gift for fans of Rupi Kaur, Connor Franta, and Cleo Wade. I feel my body and mind are disconnected, except when my worries wage against me and I stay up all night concerned over past transgressions and burden with future bad decisions that have not happened yet. One thing to note, however, is that this is just an explanation of the tidal force—not the actual tides. In real life, the Earth isn't a global ocean, covered in an even layer of water. There are seven continents, and that land gets in the way. The continents prevent the water from perfectly following the moon's pull. That's why in some places, the difference between high and low tide isn't very big, and in other places, the difference is drastic. That explains the first high tide each day, but what about the second high tide? This animation shows the tidal force in a view of Earth from the North Pole. As regions of Earth pass through the bulges, they can experiences a high tide. More About Tides

There are two main tides that are higher or lower than average. They occur twice monthly and are called neap and spring tides. Neap tidesRather, people are causing these changing tides. Dredging river channels like the Ems or filling in coastal wetlands can trigger shifts. The nature of those shifts is complicated: In some locations the tidal range grows more dramatic, whereas in others it shrinks. Either way, the shifting tides have big implications for hundreds of millions of coastal residents. This collection handles various themes of mental health including self-harm and suicidal tendencies, anxiety, body image; toxic relationships; romance and yearning; self doubt vs self worth; writing and speaking up for oneself; change, courage, hope, healing and acceptance. In this 100% walkthrough guide, you'll be carefully walked through the entire game, step-by-step, from start to finish. I've included screenshots of landmarks, to help you navigate the guide easily; as well as annotated screenshots to make puzzle solutions and interactable objects as clear as possible.

Another aspect I really identified with was the idea of using writing to heal, while still being vulnerable and open about one's own weaknesses. For instance, this small gem: In the open ocean, the tidal force of the moon will appear as bulges of water facing the moon whereas around land mass the water can spread out onto land creating tides. Types of tides Perhaps most importantly, engineers can analyse changing tides to better plan for future sea level rise. One recent study looked at the low-lying Pearl River Delta in southern China, which is home to more than 60 million people. Michela De Dominicis, an oceanographer at the National Oceanography Centre in Liverpool, UK, and her colleagues calculated how much tidal ranges would shift for a variety of future scenarios of sea level rise. As the Earth rotates, your region of Earth passes through both of these bulges each day. When you're in one of the bulges, you experience a high tide. When you're not in one of the bulges, you experience a low tide. This cycle of two high tides and two low tides occurs most days on most of the coastlines of the world. When the gravitational pull of the Sun and moon are combined, you get more extreme high and low tides. This explains high and low tides that happen about every two weeks. Note: this figure is not to scale. The Sun is much bigger and farther away.Rather, it is people that are changing the tides. Dredging river channels like the Ems or filling in coastal wetlands can trigger shifts. The nature of those shifts is complicated. In some locations the tidal range grows more dramatic, whereas in others it shrinks. Either way, the shifting tides have big implications for hundreds of millions of coastal residents. First, I must thank the author and the publisher for sending me a copy to review. I am so happy that I was one of the chosen few. Especially with this book, I feel like I needed to read it when it got to me. I needed to hear what it had to say.

To keep with the ocean aesthetic (and because this is just what I envision when I think of the book as a whole), I have the image of waves.Twice a month, the difference between high tide and low tide is at its smallest. These tides are called neap tides. When the moon's gravity pulls on the water in the oceans, however, someone's bound to notice. Water has a much easier time moving around, and the water wants to bulge in the direction of the moon. This is called the tidal force. I stepped cautiously in front of my mirror to find a girl with swollen eyes dressed in armor, protecting her body from the stings of the words I had been throwing at her for years. I didn't realised how much damage i caused until i saw her dented shield down in defeat, in her i saw resilience. A girl patiently waiting for change. I love reading poems and Changing with the Tides by Shelby Leigh is my first poem of 2022! The books had somehow expressed the feelings I've been keeping inside and it felt like a warm hug🤗
