Hades .22 pellets are made by the well known JSB brand, perfectly manufactured to give the best shooting experience, each pellet features a specially designed hollow point top that maximises expansion. As always, all pellets were weighed using HAM’s incredibly-precise, laboratory-grade, milligram balance. This ensures precise, accurate and consistent measurements. The unique Predator Polymag pellet is manufactured in cooperation with our US partner who owns a patent for that type of pellets. The pellet consists of two parts: hollow point lead pellets with inserted Polymer tip.High precision of all the parts and perfect assembly assure the shooter that he will never miss the target. I shoot a lot of big quail, was hoping these Hades Diablo 22 would drop them faster than my Crosman Pointed 22. The HW100 was shot supported by Dog-Gone-Good shooting bags at both the front and rear, rested on a bench. I was able to push Hades’s pellets with the Wildcat at an average of 921 fps using a clean barrel. Unlike the standard 15.9 grain pellets, the Hades 15.89 grain performed accurately. In contrast, length control of the Hades pellets tested was much better than average. But for one solitary pellet (the 7.18 mm outlier), it would have been VERY much better than average, as we can see from the graph below. As mentioned, these pellets are well made and 100% consistent in terms of their weight, but the head size of my pellets was quite small and they did feel a bit loose in all three barrels. As for caliber, the pellets are for .22 cal, that’s 5.50 mm in diameter. The average diameter of the pellets tested by HAM was 5.50 mm and that was also the most common head diameter among the pellets measured. The .25 caliber Hades weighs 25.54 grains, specified as 1.72 grams. I performed a ballistic coefficient test by shooting ten pellets with an FX Impact air gun. The JSB Hades is a new pellet in .25, and .22 calibers from the famed Czech manufacturer. This air gun pellet combines hollow point design and the aerodynamic shape familiar with JSB Exact pellet users.From this chart, it’s clear that more power would be useful – both in achieving a flatter trajectory across a longer range, as well as greater terminal ballistics – as indicated in the “Hunting Use” section below. Only the average weight was slightly out of spec. Compared to the 15.89 Grains claimed pellet weight, the average of the Hades pellets tested by HAM was 15.84 Grains. But as that’s only 0.3% different from the specification, it would be really unfair to complain about it!
