I can conclude that the Honeycomb Flight Controls unit is a heavy duty unit, a stiff mounting plate that can also be connected to the table with the 3M Micro-Suction and believe me, it works! When you use the clamps, you could use it also in combination with the 3M Micro-Suction, but there’s actually no need for. Honeycomb Aeronauticals Alpha Flight Controls is one of the most advanced yokes currently available for PC flight simulation. It was designed to fulfil the requirements of both flight simulation users and student or full-time pilots. The aerospace grade internal components feature realistic ergonomics for a true flying experience. I think it is safe to say that Honeycomb has easily met my expectations and quite possibly even exceeded them. For the price, it is by far the best yoke I have come across. Build quality is superb and the mechanics feel robust so I see no reason why it won't last for years. On top of that the combination of precise and weighty control input provides an excel lent flight experience. Although this is a pre-production unit, I still have no hesitation in awarding this a score of 98% and our coveted Platinum award. Great job!"

Equally disappointing, the Honeycomb Tango Foxtrot HOTAS was put on hold. Honeycomb was light on the details in their presentation, but they stated that the decision was in part due to the post-COVID consumer electronics market crash. There was no date stated as to when we can expect the Tango Foxtrot; however, it was showcased in the Honeycomb Delta screen reveal so it seems clear that they have not completely abandoned the HOTAS. Maybe I’m missing something obvious but is there a reason we have to use a third-party plugin to interact with the FSUIPC to actuate switches that have a binding available in MSFS? I don’t see why this should be required at all? Landing, taxi, strobe, etc. are all pretty straight-forward. I can see maybe the Nav/Strobe combo switch being troublesome but even that logic seems reasonably easy: if the strobe is on, nav/strobe is the intent. There is currently a bug in the installer. Instead of adding a section to the existing exe.xml file, it replaces the file with one of its own (that happens to be an invalid xml document as well).
