About this deal

Cast and crew, including Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra) and Matt Smith (Daemon), examine how Rhaenyra’s lies are starting to catch up with her, and the slow unraveling of Daemon’s marriage while living in Pentos. There is not that long to wait for the release, at all. The House of the Dragon Season 1 DVD will come out on Tuesday, Dec. 20. This is much earlier than expected, but the release date makes a lot of sense. This is perfect timing for Christmas gift ideas, and it fits around the time Game of Thrones was often released on DVD and Blu-ray. Three years since the end of Game of Thrones, the unnamed Jon Snow sequel series would actually represent the second spinoff from HBO.Details surrounding this latest offshoot don't yet appear to be fleshed out, with no members of the creative team rumoured at this point. Even the concept itself, however, is intriguing.

Director Geeta Vasant Patel, Paddy Considine (Viserys Targaryen), Wil Johnson (Vaemond Velaryon) and more dive into the motivation behind Vaemond challenging Luke’s claim to Driftmark, and Viserys’ attempt at bringing his family together in Episode 8.You’ve seen all 10 episodes of House of the Dragon Season 1 on HBO and HBO Max. After a bit of a slow (and annoying due to the time jumps) start, it certainly ended with a bang. This is another series to add to your DVD collection.

Ryan Condal, Miguel Sapochnik, Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen), and more speak to the time jump in the third episode, Viserys and Rhaenyra's mental states during the hunt, and Daemon's fight at the Stepstones.HBO is also developing a Game of Thrones sequel series that will focus on the continued adventures of Jon Snow. Each edition has all 10 episodes of the HBO series’ first season, along with more than an hour of bonus features, plus two more all-new featurettes. The 4K Ultra HD or Blu-ray versions will also entitle buyers to a digital copy, but only in the U.S. While House of the Dragon is available to stream on HBO Max in 4K with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound, a 4K Blu-ray copy will still provide the highest-quality audio and video possible for home viewing. The big question has always been when it would arrive on DVD and Blu-ray. HBO isn’t consistent with the way it releases its content, with some shows taking just a few months and others taking almost a year to go from airing on the network to DVD and Blu-ray. We did expect House of the Dragon to take around four months, but it turns out that is not going to be the case. House of the Dragon Season 1 DVD release date Leo Ashton (Aemond Targaryen), Emma D'Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen), John MacMillian (Laenor Velaryon) and more speak to the fallout that occurs after Aemond loses his eye during a fight, and how Laena's death causes Laenor to reflect on his own life. Fire reigns in House of the Dragon as the first Game of Thrones spin-off has finally hit the airwaves. While HBO cancelled the Naomi Watts-led The Long Night before it even aired, the latest series is a little closet to the main Thrones timeline — some 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen.

Through the marriage of Myriah Martell to King Daeron II, it means the Targaryens are actually descendants of Nymeria. Much like how House of the Dragon has been exploring Dany's complicated family tree, 10,000 Ships can do the same as a prequel to the prequel. Steve Toussaint - Corlys Velaryon, or the Sea Snake, the greatest explorer in Westeros and head of the richest house Ryan Condal, director Clare Kilner, Emily Carey (Alicent Hightower) and more hone in on the motivation behind Daemon’s advances towards Rhaenyra, approaching intimate scenes from a woman’s point of view, and the fractures in Rhaenyra and Alicent's friendship in Episode 4. Starting his career with a post at Movie Pilot in Berlin, Tom took on freelancing full-time with regular stints at Digital Spy, Screen Rant and Comic Book Resources. The House of the Dragon is a HBO show on the HBO Max streaming service. It is based on some of the events from George RR Martin's Game of Thrones universe, specifically his companion novel Fire and Blood. It's separate from the A Song of Ice and Fire novel series, which is the basis for the original series.

The reign of House Targaryen begins: House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones, is here.Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen. Eve Best - Rhaenys Targaryen, Corlys Valaryon's wife and sister to King Viserys and Daemon Targaryen. Tom Chapman is a pop culture-loving writer and NCTJ-accredited Broadcast Journalist with over seven years of experience covering the small and silver screen. Executive producers George R.R. Martin, Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik offer a look at what's to come; reflecting on the responsibility of evolving the world of Westeros and approaching the show through a new lens. House of the Dragon is being shown in the UK, Ireland, Italy, and Germany by Sky. The Now streaming service also provides live and on demand access.

Sapochnik, who has experience directing six Game of Thrones episodes, including Hardhome, The Long Night, and The Battle of the Bastards, directed the pilot as well as additional episodes. House of the Dragon is Sapochnik's first project as part of an overarching deal, where he is expected to develop and produce a range of content for both HBO and the HBO Max streaming service. He will, however, be stepping away from House of the Dragon from its second season onward. It's a seemingly throwaway line, but with Variety claiming last year that Person of Interest's Amanda Segel is set to write 10,000 Ships, let's dive into the story. Fire and Blood is instead set up as a history book on the Game of Thrones Universe. It specifically focuses on the 300-year rule of the Targaryen Kings, with a large portion dedicated to the history of the great Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. Ryan Condal, director Clare Kilner, Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower), Emily Carey (Alicent Hightower) and more dive into Rhaenyra and Laenor's marriage arrangement, and where Alicent's allegiances lie in Episode 5.
