Sorry to ask the same thing you’ve been asked a couple of times, but was wondering if it’s happened to yourself where it’s taken a while to fix. Once pumped up however, the pressure is trapped until you hit the release valve, allowing for a hands-free pour similar to the Nanopresso. In my opinion, it wasn’t worth it to go through all the trouble of preparing a shot only to get a tiny underextracted cup of coffee. The pump features a built-in pressure meter so you can be sure you have reached the full 16 bars before releasing the valve and pulling your espresso shot.

After a few attempts, we were achieving gorgeously smooth, rich cremas with every shot, thanks to those 18 bars of pressure forcing hot water through the coffee grinds. Use the scoop to tamp the coffee into the basket and make sure it’s nice and tidy. The manual suggests a hard tamp, this will be dependant on how fine your grind is. If your grind is too coarse, your Nanopresso hand-held brewer won’t build up pressure correctly, and the result will be a poor, watery extraction without crema. This under-extracted cup will leave you with notes of sourness and acidity that are just plain unpleasant. The fact Wacaco’s patented pressure system can achieve that 18 bar pressure is a serious game-changer for hand-powered espresso, and it means the Nanopresso is able to compete in flavor against the top end of the market.The user manual is extremely well illustrated. It includes a detailed step-by-step guide, tips for getting the best results, a troubleshooting section along with details on the cleaning process. Pressurized head – The Nanopresso has a pressured head which helps to improve the extraction process and helps with consistency, so you have the same tasting coffee on each try. Even if a less finely ground coffee is used, the head helps to brew it without needing to learn the subtleties of espresso brewing. To repressurize your Nanopresso, you will need to run hot water through it. To do that, add hot water to the water tank and attach it onto the body of your Nanopresso. Do not attach the portafilter or head to the Nanopresso. Instead, turn your Nanopresso over and start pumping to run the hot water through the gasket. Do this over a wide mouth mug or bowl to catch the hot water. I am looking for something to make me good cup of coffee or espresso to have at work as our machines produces awful coffee. :). I was about to invest in an aeropress when i also saw the Nanopresso. Wich do you recon i should get. I almost always drink coffee with milk and my espressos are rather cappuccinos. 🙂
