I enjoyed reading this one aloud to my daughter. The story is short and the pacing is very good. The characters are all three dimensional and completely believable. There is a current of mystery and tension that keeps things moving along. Author Susan Adrian is particularly good at realistic dialog and familiar family and school settings. Asimismo, el hecho de que esté ambientado en Navidad lo hace ser un relato acogedor, ideal para cualquier época del año pero sobre todo para la navideña, propiamente.

Curiosamente parece que hay cierto desconocimiento o confusión sobre esta obra. Pensando que la original es la de Alexandre Dumas. Si bien de la Adaptación de Dumas se desprenden ..la obra de Ballet, la composición musical e infinidad de adaptaciones: graficas,animadas,etc .y por estos medios es altamente conocida la premisa. Pero en definitiva la original es la de Hoffmann. The Stahlbaum’s exchange gifts with their guests as the party goes into full swing. Adults laugh and converse while the children play with their new toys. This is the marvellously strange and creative novella that Tchaikovsky's ballet is based on. And it is just as surreal as the ballet - but ballets are surreal by nature, while books needn't be.
