About this deal

On the positive side of things, the characters were okay and likable enough, and some of the things they thought or did was relatable. A year later, they are sharing custody of their son and their mutual friends are getting married and are in their wedding party. Heroine finds out the dipshit is bringing a date to the wedding and she signs up online to find herself a date so that she doesn’t look like a loser in his eyes. Triggers: Cheating (after drinking he had a ons with his physical therapist) later he finds out he had a baby with ow This book was so fun and utterly sweet, mixed with enough depth to let you see the real hearts of the characters. The side characters were great, I just wish that there were more scenes with them. So I actually adored this book, however there were a couple of content themes that I wasn’t all for and that is why the book is at 4.5 stars. It was a closed door book so I expected some sexual tension, but there was a taboo relationship between two side characters that caught me off guard. But this book was still amazing!

And if I was to be honest with myself, I knew that there was a part of me that had hoped Emerson would show up alone so I could continue with my New Year’s resolution, which was to convince her to forgive me and maybe remind her that even though I had screwed everything up, we did have something worth fighting for. Sure, asking Ben out before I revealed my true identity probably wasn’t the greatest plan, but it was all about baby steps at this point. I mean, he would be graduating at the end of the year, and since we were already in the last week of October, there wasn’t a whole lot of time left for me to get up the nerve to make something happen. I had created a baby with another woman. I’d given another woman the one thing Emerson had craved the last few years—a baby girl. And if I knew her like I thought I did, there would not be a second olive branch extended to me from her.

Don't even get me started on Asher. What a man! He is such a dream. He has the full bad boy scene written in his face. He's mysterious, portrays confidence, is full trouble, with that smirk and flirty smiles. As you get to know him, you see that behind the aloof persona he portrays, he's the kindest soul ever. I just fell in love with how sensitive and strong he is. He went to some rough patches in his life and still remained kind. There were so many moments in which my heart felt for him, I laughed, got frustrated and most of all loved this book 💕. It became my favorite from the series. They just keep getting better. Asher and Elyse were truly the perfect couple. To see where and how they started off from, to how far they had come from the evolving steps their relationship took to get to where they were by the end was no easy feat. Given the hurdles they encountered with the bumps that came along the way. Yet it never stopped them from pushing through, proving they were meant to be endgame.

I'm very conflicted about how I feel about this series now. I liked Judy Corry's Ridgewater High series before, and I did enjoy some parts of this book. However, Corry went too far on the steam, in my opinion. This is supposed to be a clean romance. The level of steam is a bit much for the genre, I'd say. If you read this as a clean romance, then you may be disappointed. However, if you don't read it as a clean romance, it probably would be pretty good. I LOVED THIS BOOK. Every part of it was beautiful. I want to be part of this world sooooo bad! The characters, the story, everything is just so perfectly written. The chemistry between Asher and Elyse was off the charts. I loved the feud between Nash and Asher and the way that Elyse’s emotions were written out. I had so much fun reading about certain parts, no spoilers, but if you’ve read the book then you’ll know what I mean by “cabin.” I’m really interested in what will happen with the Bailee plot of the book and can’t wait for whatever comes next. I love this author’s writing style and this is truly a book worth reading!I’d certainly tried to. But it seemed like no amount of apologizing or groveling could ever be enough after what I’d done to her. Why would she say that? I had told Derek that I might show up with one of our teammates’ sister-in-law if his wife arranged it.
