Always take your fexofenadine tablets with a drink of water. Swallow them whole – do not chew them. When to take it

Anti Malaria Malaria is a serious tropical disease spread by mosquitoes. If it isn’t diagnosed and treated promptly, it can be fatal. A single mosquito bite is all it takes for someone to become infected. Symptoms of malaria It’s important to be aware of the symptoms of malaria if you’re travelling to areas where there’s a high risk of the disease. Symptoms include: 1. A high temperature of 38C or above 2. Feeling hot and shivery 3. Headaches 4. Vomiting 5. Muscle pains 6. Diarrhoea Symptoms usually appear between 7 and 18 days after becoming infected, but in some cases the symptoms may not appear for up to a year, or occasionally even longer. When to seek medical attention Seek medical help immediately if you develop symptoms of malaria during or after a visit to an area where the disease is found. You should still seek medical help even if it’s several weeks, months or a year after you return from travelling. If there’s a possibility you have malaria, a blood test will be carried out to confirm whether or not you’re infected. You should receive the results of your blood test on the same day. If you have malaria, treatment will… You may only need to take fexofenadine on a day you have symptoms, such as when you've been exposed to something you're allergic to, like animal hair. In adults, the following undesirable effects have been reported in clinical trials, with an incidence similar to that observed with placebo Fexofenadine hydrochloride is rapidly absorbed into the body following oral administration, with Tmax occurring at approximately 1–3 hours post dose. The mean Cmax value was approximately 427 ng/ml following the administration of a 120 mg dose once daily. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicine.

TREATHAY should not be taken during pregnancy and whilst breast-feeding unless advised by a doctor. The proposed mechanism is inhibition of drug efflux via intestinal organic anion transporting polypeptides (e.g., P-glycoprotein), of which fexofenadine is a substrate. If you or your child have been prescribed fexofenadine, follow your doctor's instructions about how and when to take it. Dosage But fexofenadine seems to be less likely to make you feel sleepy than other non-drowsy antihistamines.

As well as taking a non-drowsy antihistamine during the day (such as fexofenadine, cetirizine or loratadine), your doctor may suggest that you take a sedating antihistamine at night time if the itching is making it difficult to sleep. Studies in special risk groups (elderly, renally or hepatically impaired patients) indicate that it is not necessary to adjust the dose of fexofenadine hydrochloride in these patients. If you're breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed, talk to your doctor or pharmacist, as other antihistamines called loratadine and cetirizine might be better while you're breastfeeding. MANAGEMENT: To maximize plasma levels and therapeutic effects, fexofenadine should be taken with water.are due to have an allergy test – taking fexofenadine may affect the results, so you might need to stop taking it a few days before the test
