I then helped a friend doing it using the same method and worked again. So I feel confident to say, I think this is working as a workaround. Comment by aslajaMake sure you have a free slot in your bag when you fill the vial. I didn't and the moment I filled it up I lost all the gathered water. Doing this quest was quite easy the first time, I was the only person around so there were groups of 2-4 pools about 10-15 yards from each other.
