So, what exactly did we look out for? Thankfully, the Cloud Nine curling wand has an automatic hibernation feature. After 35 minutes of staying idle, it automatically turns off. So don’t keep fretting at work wondering whether you turned off the wand. How easy is it to use?Straight - This is the most common of curlers - it's the same width along the entire barrel meaning that your curls will also be the same from root to tip. If you're after a more classic look, then look for a straight barrel. You have to wrap your hair around the wand yourself. On the upside, it provides more style versatility. You can wrap your hair in different ways to produce different curl sizes and styles. When testing hair straighteners and curling wands, I have a set procedure to follow – heat the iron up to 180°C, spritz clean, dry hair with heat protection spray, style the hair and then monitor the style to see how long these results last. While performing these tests with the Contouring Iron, I soon learned that I’d have to include more nuanced tests to really gauge this model’s capabilities.
