About this deal

Anyone who’s ever worn makeup will understand that getting stubborn makeup off is the worst after a long night out. Waterproof mascara, layers of foundation, dramatic eyeliner – often you wake up with a residue of last night’s look still present. These ingredients are rich in antioxidants that help maintain skin’s moisture barrier and help fight free-radical damage, i.e., accelerated skin aging caused by common free radical triggers like UV rays, pollution, cigarette smoke, and environmental toxins.

I'm in my early thirties, so I'm at that unique stage of life where I'm dealing with both acne and wrinkles (#blessed). I tried the DHC cleansing oil for the first time about a year ago and it's been a permanent staple in my routine since. This is not an easy club to get into, as I have sensitive skin, am an admitted skincare snob, and hate change. I'm also a licensed cosmetologist and have been reviewing products for over a decade, so my standards are abnormally high. Needless to say, I don't invite new products into my routine often. Whether your cleansing routine involves one, two, or three steps, a cleansing oil should probably be a part of it. Generally used as the first cleansing step (and skincare step as a whole), these face cleansers not only remove makeup and grime, but they also have added skincare benefits. Double cleansing is achieved by using an oil based cleanser, then something water based to remove the excess. Oil cleansers are also best when it comes to removing makeup, excess sebum and dirt; without being harsh to skin.

There are a limitless number of Japanese oil cleansers out there, and if you’ve used one that you absolutely have to share, we’d love to hear about it in the comments section below! As always, remember that every person’s skin and skin type is different so what might work for me might not work for you, and vice versa. This oil based cleansers removes dirt, impurities and makeup effortlessly, it also provides a pretty nourishing massage experience as it melts deep into your pores.

Tocopherol (vitamin E): Natural skin conditioner and antioxidant that protects against free radical damage It's 100% organic, formulated with olive oil, rosemary leaf oil, and vitamin E. The brand uses Flor de Aceite (Flower of Virgin Oil) which is obtained from organically cultivated olives grown in the Andalusia region of Spain. Because it's also rich in vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps reduce the oxidation of sebum, it works to prevent dullness and rough-looking skin. I dispense 1 full pump into my dry hands and gently massage it all over my dry face. Usually that’s enough but sometimes when I feel like I need more, I simply get more product.
