If your smartphone is compatible, you can charge your phone up to 80% in just 35 minutes. To fast-charge an iPhone, you need a minimum of 18W and USB-C, so look for extra USB-C slots, which are more capable than USB-A. Handily there’s a USB-C-to-HDMI-2.0 adapter that you can use to attach an external display. Other hubs require you to buy such an adapter. Thanks to the versatility Thunderbolt technology provides, you can enjoy direct plug & play simplicity when connecting any USB-C, Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4 equipped display. You can also expand your display connectivity options via HDMI, DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort (mDP), VGA, or DVI by connecting any compatible USB-C or Thunderbolt video display adapters. Yes, the Element Hub is the perfect companion for any M2, M2, Pro, M2 Max, M1, M1 Pro, or M1 Max computer. It includes two 5Gbps USB-A 3.1 ports, and two USB-C ports—one of which allows for passthrough charging at up to 60W.All the Thunderbolt you've always wanted: For the first time ever, add more full speed, fully functional Thunderbolt ports to your computer 1 Many printers nowadays have wireless support, so there’s no need for a cable. Satechi promises that this adapter can handle two 4K displays at 60Hz – most display-friendly USB-C hubs can handle 4K displays only at 30Hz, a lower frame rate that is fine for most tasks but not ideal for high-resolution gaming or broadcasts. If your monitor is Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C it can connect directly to the spare Thunderbolt ports on the Element Hub. Razer looks at power distribution differently from other manufacturers and we still can’t quite understand how each port shares its charging capacity, but it worked well in testing. Not that three downstream 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 10Gbps USB-A port (with 7.5W charging power) are all that humble. Yes, the Element Hub can be daisy-chained to the TS3 Plus, or any dual port Thunderbolt 3, or Thunderbolt 4 device such as the TS3 Plus. You can either have it first or second in the chain. We would recommend to have the TS3 Plus directly connected to the laptop since it provides higher laptop charging. It sullies its Pro title, however, with a couple of the ports being rather average, and the power supply could do with being higher, but it is otherwise well equipped.

BELKIN THUNDERBOLT™ 2 EXPRESS DOCK HD: MADE FOR THUNDERBOLT 2 TECHNOLOGY

Plugable’s USB4-HUB3A calls itself a USB4 hub but, as the branding on the front suggests, is also a fully certified Thunderbolt 4 hub that is competitively priced and boasts a fast USB-A port as well as the one upstream and three downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports. in that respect, it is a better solution than the company’s more expensive TBT4-HUB3C, reviewed later on. It boasts four Thunderbolt 4 (all at 40Gbps bandwidth and 15W charging) and four USB-A 3.2 Gen.2 (10Gbps and 7.5W) ports. That’s more than any other Thunderbolt 4 hub we have seen or tested. It is priced the same as the Caldigit Element Hub, which is still our favorite Thunderbolt 4 hub, with its four 40Gbps/18W Thunderbolt 4 and four 10Gbps/7.5W USB-A ports. However, if you own a large power-hungry laptop, the Belkin’s 96W USB PD charging will impress.
