About this deal

Welcome to the world of Julius Zebra. He is a cranky teenage zebra heading for the waterhole with his mom and friends, just like all of us, when out the blue a lion comes and shouts for all to head for the hills due to an unknown threat. As it turns out the threat is a Roman battalion collecting animals to provide entertainment at gladiator bouts. From there to a cliff-hanging end of the book, Julius and his friends do their best to please Emperor Hadrian and survive run-ins with the gladiators.

I've studied the Egyptians at school and the history rang true although I wasn't quite sure if it's really true that Heter was a real horse God, although there was a statue of him.My favourite character in the book is Lucia, she is extremely brave, she even tried to escape Septimus with her friends, although sadly it failed. And thus they get dragged to Rome, to the gladiator tournaments. Where we meet the rest of the gang. I was happy to see them all together, and then see them try to fight for their lives. Though you can imagine how that looks given that, with the exception of Milus, none of them know what the hell to do. So it was equal parts hilarity and excitement. I was definitely impressed with Julius. I knew he was great, but this great? Plus I loved what he did for his new friends. Look, over here!” shouted Cornelius. “We could use this pot of paint they’re whitewashing the walls with!”

I would want to read more books from this author if his other books are like this. Julius Zebra is a very good. It’s funny and teaches you a lot about history at the same time. World's Greatest Heroes (2008-2010) and Max the Mouse [18] (2010–present) — National Geographic Kids Class 3H from Carr Junior School in York have read and reviewed Julius Zebra: Rumble with the Romans by Gary Northfield. The book is published by Walker Books. It tells the story of a zebra called Julius who is captured by Romans from his home in the heart of the Serengeti in Africa and taken to fight against gladiators in the famous Colosseum in ancient Rome. Kniha je plná skvelých ilustrácií. Veľmi sa mi páčili, dopĺňali príbeh a určite udržia pozornosť malých čitateľov.

It was mostly all fun (except the epilogue). All the characters were amusing, especially Brutus the one who wears a seaweed wig.

This book is so hilarious and just so silly but with a brilliant story too! ‘Julius Zebra Rumble with the Romans’ is the first book in the Julius Zebra series with the second and third books being ‘Bundle with the Britons’ and ‘Entangled with the Egyptians’. This book is where the adventures of Julius begins. Having been forced to go to the lake with his mother and his brother Brutus, Julius wants nothing more than to leave the stinky place and go home. But when a stampede of animals runs from the lake Julius finds himself alone, with a very annoying warthog, and together they have to escape both a lion and the Romans who are after them. Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical MomentsFelix raised a hoof to speak. “How about if we paint faces on them? That might make it a bit easier to pretend they’re people.” I think that Julius Zebra is a very funny book full of comedy. Another very good thing about it is that it includes a lot history, like how the Britons would fight the Romans in a battlefield. It relates to real life as well because the Romans had the Coliseum to fight in with different gladiators. The book makes you actually feel like you’re the zebra going up to fight against the Britons. My favourite part was when the Romans where on a holiday on a cruise ship and they want to escape, so they come up with a master plan of dressing up like fish and diving into the ocean. This overall was a really great book it was full of emotions and really was a great book. This is a funny and interesting book ideal for anyone aged 6-12 who likes a good story, embedded with facts from the real world . I think the history wasn't very realistic because only very few parts were true, but it did make me want to find out more about what actually happened and I wanted to read more by this author; he is so funny!

I think this is an amazing book. My favourite and funniest part is when Cornelius the warthog says “Get your bottom off my face!”(Isaac, 7)And of course this book is also stuffed to the brim with illustrations. At times stand-alone just giving a better look at things, but mostly a continuation of the story. It makes the read even more engaging and fun (and also funnier). Julius Zebra: Rumble with the Romans! is the first book in the Julius Zebra series by Gary Northfield. The word level and illustrations were just right. I liked Chapter 21 best because it's really funny because they dress up as mummies. I didn't like chapter 23 because it's so small! I would highly recommend this.
