About this deal
With regular use I found the Nokia 8.3 5G zips through everyday tasks. Multi-tab web browsing is smooth and the phone runs game streaming services, like GeForce Now with zero issues. Local games like CoD Mobile and PUBG also run fine, though I tended to dial down their graphics settings to remain the occasional delay in loading times. We’ve used 5G on the device in a couple of scenarios, and we found it to work well. We haven’t been able to properly put the 5G connectivity through its paces, but if you’re excited about the next-gen connectivity standard you should be well catered for by this phone.

You’ll be shooting 16MP shots with the main camera by default, and to make the most of the 64MP capabilities you need to switch to the Pro mode. That’s easy enough to find, but it’s not entirely clear that you’re only shooting in 16MP if you don’t select Pro mode. Roaming: using your home data plan to roam in Zone A is included in all of our Pay Monthly plans. For roaming in other destinations, charges will apply depending on which plan you are on.For Smartwatches: lets you select a monthly Device Plan Credit Agreement (over 3-36 months) with a monthly Connectivity Plan. Watch Plans over 12 months require a 24 month Connectivity Plan. You can pay off your Device Plan early, and if you do, you can keep your Connectivity Plan on a 30-day contract or leave. If your Connectivity Plan ends, the Device Plan is still payable (either in full or monthly). Watch Plans require a Vodafone pay monthly airtime plan and a Connectivity Plan (via Vodafone OneNumber)
Nokia 8.3 5G review: a Bond phone with the Midas touch Nokia 8.3 5G review: a Bond phone with the Midas touch
By default, the phone is setup to have the volume control key work the camera shutter, though as always there is that shutter option on screen too. Whether holding the phone single-handed or firmly with both, the camera shutter action seems comfortable.
The fixed focus macro lens (which is only available in the standard Photo mode) is much less useful. You need to hold the phone about 4cm from your subject which incurs distortion, plus resolution is low at 2MP. Overall, we've found it very difficult to capture any kind of macro image that we are pleased with.
