The Adam A5X features extended-range ribbon tweeters and re-engineered bass drivers for a more three-dimensional, focused sound. It's enormously important to understand that there is absolutely no possibility of having any pleasure in life at all without skill. Owned A5s for years, they were decent but not at all worth it compared to the newer, better T5V anymore.

My only concern is that the A5X (and to a greater extent the new A8X), are slightly more scooped and forgiving in the midrange than earlier ADAMs. So going for either of these would keep me in the 5" territory, which I am afraid would be not ideal for techno… Which models do you guys have? The T Series is ADAM Audio’s range of affordable, professional 2-way powered studio monitors, offering extremely high performance and is comprised of three models: the T5V, the T7V and the all new T8V. They've redesigned the drivers, used new electronics and, in the case of some of their larger monitors, they've added a mid‑range driver. Given the way in which most modern music is recorded and mixed, any sense of depth is largely illusory, created by the clever use of balance, EQ and synthetic ambience, but the A7Xs interpret the mix engineer's intentions in this respect extremely well. I felt a real sense of separation between the component parts of a mix, with a much enhanced impression of front‑to‑back perspective. The drivers are mounted in a neat and fairly conventional ported enclosure, with all the connections on the metal rear panel, which also serves as a heat-sink for the electronics. Compared to the ASP8s, their low end is tighter and more solid, the high end cleaner and less pointy, the midrange more complex and detailed, and the stereo imaging more concrete and precise.
