Audiences currently live in a cinematic world where studios are trying to build and create their own connected universes (similar to the MCU), and Dreamworks could add themselves into the mix by adding protagonists George and Harold's second most popular comic book series into the world of Captain Underpants. Though the first film adapted the majority of the fourth book in the series ( The Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants), it did take other pieces from other books in the series, one being the Turbo Toilet 2000. With Dreamworks announcing a spinoff film for Dog Man, and especially if the film comes out before Captain Underpants 2, an appearance from the canine cop could be awesome to see in the sequel. With a more in-depth look at Captain Underpants and fleshing him out more as a hero, along with having aliens and zombies, the third book in the series became one of the more popular entries; and if done correctly, should be used in the sequel. This seems like Dreamworks is setting up a sequel focused on the devious Talking Toilets, and would be a good idea for the sequel; along with having a tinge of horror thrown in to differentiate it from the previous film. The movie starts out good enough with the boys doing what they do and then discovering how they can bring Captain Underpants to life, so to speak.

The Captain Underpants sequel is expected to flesh out more of the universe, and Sulu should be next on the list to be introduced. But, later on, it is revealed that the villain's full name is Pee-Pee Diarrheastein Poopypants, Esquire. Well, he was gonna rip and angel's wings off (in this universe heaven exists), staple them (or something) to his own body and fly back down to earth. I guess the best (and worst thing) I can say about this movie is the fact that it feels like it was a movie made for kids by kids. It includes minifigures for Captain Underpants (using Sumo Wrester, Where are My Pants, and Emmet), George, Harold, 2 x robbers, 2 x policemen, and 3 x students hiding in the school windows (including Melvin Sneedly in the door). But next to that we also get snippets of other animation forms such as hand drawn, cutout, flash and a wicked little sock puppet sequence.
