Illustration is a huge part of Gaspard’s public life, how would you characterise your relationship with your illustrator? Zeb Soanes and his illustrator, James Mayhew hold all merchandising rights, so took it upon themselves to develop a Gaspard the Fox plush toy. This story, Gaspard’s Christmas, flowed quite easily onto the page as I had been thinking about it for a long time. The programme also features music written by Jonathan Dove and performed by Classic FM’s Orchestra in Scotland, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
