The resulting work is stunning and with a simplistic storyline, it is a perfect aid to explain the current refugee crisis to younger children or even adults. What is it like to leave everything behind and travel miles and miles to somewhere unfamiliar and strange? While the book ends on a hopeful note, it emphasizes the ongoing uncertainty faced by many refugees. The story shows a happy family who enjoy everyday life until war comes, their father is taken and they have to leave their country. The Journey Founder Brandon Bays and husband Kevin Billett have for almost three decades been using The Journey Method to create one of the most effective toolsets to heal, thrive and awaken.

But when the war takes her father, her mother decides it is time to leave their homeland despite the dangers, and to try and reach a country where they can live without war and fear. Over the last 27 years millions of people from all backgrounds have experienced the extraordinary power of their own bodies’ healing capacity. The powerful teachings of The Journey were born from Brandon’s own direct experience of healing from a large tumor in just 6 ½ weeks – without drugs or surgery. With that said, this book itself isn't scary, but it does make you sympathise with how refugees might be feeling. Je to príbeh úteku, ktorý má toľko metafor, že dieťa ich nechápe, zároveň nemá žiadny konkrétny nosný bod, ktorý by dieťa zaujal.

Both “encouraging one another towards love and good deeds” as well as lovingly confronting sin in one anothers lives to bring about gospel-motivated transformation. I didn't like the mix between reality and fantasy, I think if I were a child reading this I would feel confused which parts of the book actually reflected the experiences of the refugees, and as this families situation is scary enough anyway, I think their could be better ways to explain this. I particularly love the ending where the child relates their journey to the birds above that are migrating. Each spread features a carefully chosen colour palette, depicting the variety of landscapes, real and emotional, through which a family passes, escaping conflict and seeking sanctuary. Please ensure that all students have the emotional maturity to engage with this text, considering its sensitive focus. Despite being short, it has some heavy themes and ends in a way that makes you hope for the safety of the narrator. Follow the boat on its exciting voyage into the unknown and marvel at what lies at its journey's end.
