Im not even going to get into a discussion about this smut because I know this is an aspect where I’m particularly picky— and where taste ranges a lot. this book was a masterclass in how you not only give enough time for the relationship between the couple to develop but, also how to insert side characters/previous characters from the series without taking it away from the main couple. Charming, deadly, and smart enough to hide it, Christian Harper is a monster dressed in the perfectly tailored suits of a gentleman.I read and reread that part so many times because I kept thinking wait did i actually read that right? no one is more surprised i enjoyed this than me because in previous reviews i made it clear how bland and boring stella appeared but then i ate my words because my girl brought the most amount of flavour, spice and complexity IN THE ENTIRE TWISTED SERIES! the fact that he became obsessed with stella after one encounter after which he kept her lost ring in his pocket for 5 years ?

The concept of "enemies with benefits" (a neat inversion of "friends with benefits") places this novel on a whole different level with respect to many of its contemporaries. that one scene where Stella had to save his ass by recognizing Christian's business partner was looking for a human connection and not just money-money talk? I feel like there was some big foreshadowing going on there (maybe for Dante’s book) but im not sure I understand how that helped the story but ill come back to it later. There is not one fragment in the entire novel that looks even slightly out of place or oddly written. Everyone was starting new chapters of their lives while I was stuck in the prologue, waiting for my story to be told.

We met Stella in the previous twisted books as the successful social media influencer and Christian harper as the cyber security expert who believes people in love are “insufferable”. It was such a nice ending to the series and I really loved how all the banter didn’t stop as they got older. i was totally convinced that twisted games was going to be my favourite in the series but this book is in a different level all thanks to my babygirl stella. This is not to say that the other chapters that preceded or followed those two we just mentioned were not compelling in their own right, but these are the kinds of chapters that add shock value to readers.
