No one even myself can judge if a film is going to be good or bad after 5 minutes, you have to give it time before you can decide it’s not for you. That woman brings a fine mix of vulnerability and intensity to a role, and has some of the best facial expressions I've ever seen. It is obvious this is ultra indie work, still Brian and Laurence Avenet-Bradley create a cool, atmospheric thriller.
The horror elements are a mix of traditional haunted house tropes, chilling visual scenes and very dark subject matter. It’s a haunted house film, but the main focus of the story isn’t the haunting, it’s more of a detective story following a breadcrumb trail, occasionally interrupted by ghostly presences that really wish she’d pay more attention to the things they’re scrawling on walls and mirrors. Echoes of Fear opens with an elderly man (Norman Zeller – Malignant) taking a shower, who promptly dies in mysterious circumstances.
Engage with a series of cryptic riddles, guiding your steps through a series of haunting houses, each hiding secrets that echo through the ages. I didn’t expected that as I am a scary movie lover and the actors are all new to me but they are a bunch of good actors. The real horror is much more real, as her best friend says "Whatever this is it's way beyond ghosts!
Whenever it looks as if the there is a rational explanation for the events things turn weirder, Alysa has strange visions and dreams, she sees creatures.The film has a fairly small cast which includes an elderly man living next door who is a chain smoker despite being attached to a portable oxygen tank, and a delightful pet mouse, rightfully given a credit (Twikie and Twixie).
