I love the narrative surrounding the friendship formed by Sunset and Destiny. Sunset's character was far more developed than Destiny. I feel for Destiny's mum as well who was never developed further than as a character obsessed with Danny, and she never gained her own agency. It would have been great to see a storyline where Destiny and her mother find happiness with themselves, after seeing Danny's reality at the premiere.Both series are produced by Kindle Entertainment, who have adapted many of Dame Jacqueline Wilson’s books including Bafta and Emmy-winning Dustbin Baby and Four Kids and It for Sky Cinema. NBCUniversal Global Distribution will handle international sales of the series. Sunset is Danny’s legitimate daughter, but she hates the luxury lifestyle, the constant photoshoots. Available from the 11th February on Sky Kids and streaming service NOW, this 4 x 22’ mini-series is adapted for screen by Nathan Bryon (co-creator and writer of Sky Max Bloods) and Jonny Wright, produced by Matt Tiller and directed by Ian Aryeh. Claudia was one of the few nice adults in the story and it was obvious she really cared about Sunset and her siblings. Destiny is also an interesting character. At just 11 years old she feels more like the parent and has to plead with her mother, Kate, to seek help for her deteriorating condition. It feels as though we are meant to pity Kate for working so hard and trying to connect Destiny with her father - and whilst it was certainly sad to read about her neglecting her own health and falling into a depression, any likeability for her character was destroyed by how frustrating it was to read about her hysterical obsession with Danny and the way in which she neglects Destiny because of it. Delivered as a vlog, the sisters are excited to share their behind-the-scenes take of life on tour. But being on the road has its ups and downs! Sunset and Destiny get to know one another – as well as each other’s most irritating habits – and they also learn lots about themselves and by the end emerge closer than ever.
