About this deal

It offers a blend of features and functions that benefit us as users at a price that most will find affordable. Aside from the colour of the brush the physical size and shape are identical and you would not be able to tell the two apart unless you noticed the additional cleaning mode icon found on the 9000. Since first launching, the 650 now comes in the same blue colour as the Pro 600 as well as pink also.

The Pro 3 3000 has a slightly revised design. It looks a little cleaner. Unlike the 2000, it does not have a rubber grip that runs the length of the brush handle. Instead, the only grip on the front is the panel that contains the power button. You are advised against scrubbing or brushing too hard. Just hold it gently and guide it to do its work from one mouth section to another area, tooth to tooth until all teeth are clean. However, to prolong the life of the battery, it is good to run the battery down regularly and at least once every 6 months, deplete it completely.

This toothbrush is more portable than the Oral-B Pro 600 electric toothbrush . It is roughly the same weight, weighing in at 122g without the toothbrush head. It does come with a travel case which gives it good protection when going on your travels. The travel case also holds 2 additional brush heads which is useful. The Oral-B Pro 650 is pretty small coming in at 23 cm x 2.5cm x 3cm including brush head. This means that it can easily fit into your hand luggage or suitcase when going on holiday. 5) Value for money – Oral-B Pro 650 Review Price With only a couple of slight differences between these two models, the Pro 3 3000 is the more premium and expensive of the two. But it doesn’t make it the one to go for. Place these brushes side by side and it is almost impossible to tell the difference between each of them.

The built-in timer in this brush is, in my opinion, a highly underrated feature. It is all too easy to think we have been brushing for longer than we have, as many of us get bored when completing a mundane task like cleaning the teeth. This built-in timer makes it simple. There is no excuse not to achieve the full 2 minutes. However, what is great about an electric toothbrush over a manual brush is the increased consistency in cleaning motion that it can offer and this is why you will often see toothbrush manufacturers claiming up to 100% more plaque removal. You can learn more about this mode and how it differs but reading our article, Oral-B cleaning modes explained. But, the whitening mode is often overrated. On the subject of cleaning modes, the Genius 9000 has an extra brushing mode known as ‘Tongue Cleaning’ mode. This is a cycle that lasts for 20 seconds with 7300 oscillations and 30,000 pulsations and designed for as the name suggests, cleaning the tongue.

The Oral-B iO has been redesigned from the ground up. From the motor to the handle, to the brush head, it has all changed. On the negative side, the Pro 650 does not have a pressure sensor to alert you in case of brushing your teeth too hard nor a travel case to help storing your brush when travelling.

Oral-B Pro 650 - Pros & Cons

Yes it is indeed waterproof and can be used to brush your teeth in the shower. Does the Oral-B Pro 650 have a timer? Both brushes offer Bluetooth connectivity, which means that they connect to an Android or iOS smartphone via an app. The more premium brushes offer additional cleaning modes which are suitable if you have more advanced oral healthcare needs or are looking for a particular programme such as whitening. Do not rule the 650 out because of it, you do not have to use this feature, but if you do, just be aware of the conditions of use. If you need more detail on any of the brushes, read on or leave a comment. Brush vs brush comparison posts

Having used a wide variety of electric toothbrushes I do believe the power and clean offered from the Pro 650 is as good as any of the more premium brushes, it just does not offer the range of cleaning options for those serious about oral hygiene. On the rear of the handle rather than raised plastic ridges, the 3000 has a more subtle dimpled surface.Like all other Oral B electric toothbrushes, it comes with a small round brush head, offering a tooth to tooth cleaning action through a 3D cleaning action (rotates, oscillates and pulsates ) perfect technology to remove up to 100% plaque along a gum line. Together these alert you to relieve the pressure when brushing. Once relieved the light will go out, the brush motor speed up and the sound change again. It does too come with a premium travel case, similar to that of the Genius X, which allows the brush to be charged whilst inside. However, like the X, this requires a separate proprietary power adapter.
