Wax's desire to investigate the recent robberies itches at him. The Alloy of Law is an okay jumping in spot for the Cosmere, but keep in mind that this book has spoilers for the original Mistborn trilogy. Marsh's transformation into a Steel Inquisitor through Hemalurgy granted him the power of Allomancy and Feruchemy. Hemalurgy involves transferring powers from one individual to another by using metallic spikes, usually at the cost of the donor's life. While most Hemalurgic creations are driven by destructive intent, Marsh's unique situation hints at a more intricate use of Hemalurgy to achieve longevity and preserve his consciousness.

Lady Cett frowned, but retreated. She didn’t know what to make of him; none of them did. Some saw him as a mysterious scion of the Ladrian family, associated with strange stories of the realms beyond the mountains. The rest assumed him to be an uncultured, rural buffoon. He figured he was probably both. We then switch to Miles, who is talking with his crew about his morals and stuff. Mister Suit talks to Miles about the wedding incident. Miles tells Mister Suit that he’ll deal with Wax. Ranette has also been designing Hazekiller bullets to go after specific kinds of Allomancers, such as a bullet with a ceramic tip to go after Coinshots (the tip won't be affected by their Push, so it'll keep going and kill them). I was so excited when I saw this audiobook was available - I loved the Mistborn series and am eagerly awaiting the sequel to the Way of Kings (have just finished listening to it a second time, a year after I first listened to it).

There Wax's butler tries to kill him, but the trio manage to escape.
